this what I read and believe it was easy come easy go;Red West called me up, and he said: "Are you Jerry Scheff the trumpet player?". And I said: "YES!!!" (laughs). I played tuba my whole childhood and through my navy years, and the fingerwork is the same. So I borrowed an old silver, just horrible beat-up looking trumpet from this guy, no case, and I just walked in with that trumpet. We played for two days and I made $900 for these two days. Back then, that was a LOT of money. I never played anything that they could hear. I never played any high notes, I played everything so that it blended with the other horns. Nobody said anything! They didn't call back, but? (laughs). I used to tease Red West about that. I said: "See, Red, you didn't do very good research on me?".

Jerry's listed as playing bass on the session: Soundtrack Sessions for M.G.M.: Double Trouble, July 14, 1966.

He's also listed as playing trumpet: Soundtrack Sessions for Paramount: Easy Come, Easy Go, September 28-29, 1966.

Cool, Jerry's site also listed him as playing on Elvis (1956) release, guess he did some over dubs for the rerelease of it.

Now i have to think of a question.

Name a 1950's track that Elvis played bass on?

Is the answer Baby I don"t care or One night

Baby I Don't Care is the one i have info on. It is said Bill Black chucked a tantrum and stalked off cause he couldn't get it right, so Elvis picked up the electric bass and did it.
