Do you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing on August 16, 1977 - the day you'd heard the shocking news that the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, had died? Prior to August 16, 1977, there were many rumors about his poor health but still his death was unexpected.
As we are now approaching towards the 30th anniversary of August 16, 1977, Elvis is still a part of us. We didn't lose a favorite entertainer. We lost a legend. We lost a man who had helped change the face of music. We lost a man who had, in many ways, influenced our lives. What Elvis gave us the most was his love.
Joe Krein and I are currently working on the second volume - ELVIS: REMEMBERING AUGUST 16, 1977 - the memories of those fateful days by his family members, friends and fans - here in the United States and around the world. We want to continue to create a collective memory of our thoughts about the life and death of this great man - especially what he'd meant to us when he was alive - be passed on down to our children and grandchildren. We want to assure you that this book will be a positive expression of admiration and historically accurate - a fitting tribute to Elvis Presley.
Will you please provide us your special memories? You can send it to us, Mr. Ron L. Collamore, 1732 Ryons Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68502 USA or email: [, and/or Joe Krein, KREIN@MHCABLE.COM.
