Joe E. told me once when we talked one time before show he was special guest. That I can't remember if he said it was sometime between 1969-early '71. Because Elvis moved so much during one of the shows and sweat he ripped his pants and remembers going behind the band as someone sitched up the hole. LOL

I want say it was '69 not 100% sure.

    Love to all,

That is from Cincinnati, Ohio March 21, 1976 Afternoon Show. That was the first time he wore the Bicentennal Jumpsuit with White Sleeves. During Polk Salad Annie he ripped between the pants and left to change into the Rainfall Jumpsuit. That can be found on the dvd/vcd Sensational In Cincinnati. But it was uncommon really to see Elvis to rip his jumpsuits. He did it a few times.

How many jumpsuits was Elvis carrying with him for his shows? And thanks for the clip.
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

That one question, How many jumpsuits he had with him during the shows? I can't really say how many. The ones who can was the ones who was there. I will guess and say some where around 10. I have a picture of Elvis in his dressing room where it is showing counting the jumpsuit that he is wearing, there were 12 jumupsuits. I think he was always prepared for this. That is why one of the reasons why Elvis during Suspicious Minds Elvis sadi "I hope this suit don't tear up baby". I believe he had ripped some before and made jokes about this during this song. So this made him have a certain number of jumpsuits at hand always.

Elvis should have stopped wiggling after 1974.... it really started to look... "weird". Especially songs like Polks Salad Annie and Suspicious Minds, that used to be showstoppers with the great movements and karatekicks.... Elvis either had to loose lots and lots of weight, or stopped doing these songs or at least stop doing the moves during these kinda songs. It's like a parody of the Elvis from 1969-1974.

It makes me feel sad perfomances like these. The decline is so visible (knowing that it all would end 1,5 years later).

I agree with you Albert, the moves were not the same in those last years, but, i really enjoy listening to the later versons. They have very much character compared to the 1970 versions. And the orchestra and band were fantastic during this song in the later years. At least thats my opinion

I got to say, he did well on the 76 new years eve concert in pittsburg, polk salad really rocks, as do Elvis' moves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzBYUdbpkFs

    Elvis splits his pants

The clip is interesting, but I can't understand what he was singing, or what he said after he split his pants.....very funny though.
