You already know my sources Matt. But you obviously did not care for my sources in the King Of Spades thread. My sources are the archives at Graceland, and Priscilla. Saying I "disagree wholeheatedly" is my opinion or point of view, just as you have yours apparently. But I refuse to get sucked into another debate where we lose sight of the issue at hand, and either bad-mouth Elvis, or even worse, each other. Elvis fans are a family....just leave it at that.
I have no desire to get into a protracted debate nor lose the issue, I have commented on a post you have submitted and wish to recieve clarification!
So.. Graceland archives or Priscilla (or both) have confirmed or have evidence that Elvis had Cancer? If that is the case I think we have breaking news that the worlds press would surely like to hear about.
Pointing out Elvis' faults is not slamming him.So many fans want to hide from the truth. The fact is Elvis didnt show any interest in his career during the latter years. Please give me examples that prove me wrong.Post Aloha all he did was constant shows which became shakespearan tradgedies. The bone cancer theory is just false.Sympathetic fans use this as a means to explain Elvis' problems. It's just an escape hatch. Please dont take Billy Smith's word as gospel either. All of the insider's mentioned on this thread have contradicted themselves and each other many times.Joe has pretty much said Kathy is full of it.Which one do you believe? To say that Elvis couldnt walk up to the Col and say "Parker,Im doing the movie no matter what" is crazy.Elvis wasnt hypnotized by the Col.It's always somebody else's fault for Elvis' problems. Was Elvis a happy person? He lived and experienced things we can only dream of.He reached the absolute pinnacle of success but I think he wasnt happy on the way down.At the end I see a man who wants to be happy but he is hopelessly lost.

"Was Elvis a happy person? He lived and experienced things we can only dream of." quote by jak
This would be true. Elvis exprienced things only a very few have ever experienced, and never to the level like Elvis did. So to say whether he was truly happy, had cancer or not, among so many other things....will only be truly known by him & God.
I think Elvis remained remarkably sane considering what he experienced throughout his life, he remained humble and loved his fans.
To be perfectly honest how Elvis managed to remain so normal is a testament to his personality and charisma as well as his other abilities.
This is a good point.I cant really recall any moments where Elvis rebuked any of his fans.It is true that his humility remained intact over the years which certainly speaks of his character.Elvis never seemed to think he was above his fans I dont think. He genuinely seemed to appreciate them. Many of today's stars could have used a lesson from him.

I think Elvis had a crazy sense of humor and took pleasure in as much of the small things in life as he could. I think he had been basically a happy person inside in spite of the poverty and hardships in his childhood. Then there was the loss of his mother and all the garbage he had to take through the media, the colonel and those who closely surrounded him.
He was happy most of the time when he was performing but I think once he was off stage everything came back down on his head as usual so no, I don't think he was very happy in his personal life anymore.
