Hi Johnny
Welcome to the board also - really enjoy your stuff too and this one is perhaps one of your best so far that you have shared.
Nice work on the colourisation and an awesome photo choice.
Spinout (aka Clint Reno from the fecc board)
This is my first post to this board, (I just discovered where all you great designers hang out).
Anyway I thought I would show my latest WIP. I've always loved the look of the European LP covers of the 50's especially the one that came out of Italy and Spain, so here is my tribute to those designs. I'll have a insert and back cover soon. I think my compilation will end up being a "best of the 50's outtakes"
I might just upload one without a tracklist to my site when its done.
Cheers
Johnny

Hi Johhny, nice to see you here
Excellent design again.... like always
One thing I particularly like about your designs (and your site) is that you can make it look like it really is a cover from the 50s or 60s. I mean, other alternate artwork designers also make stunning designs, but yours look so vintage. How do you do that? Is that a target for yourself? Do you keep that in mind while making it? Are you paying extra attention to the designs of the 50s / early 60s?

without a song, the road would never bend,
without a song, so I'll keep singing the song.

Thanks for the welcome I always look forward to checking out the new designs. I think pretty soon we'll have redone the whole catalogue (imports included)!
Thanks Albert, and yes I'm certainly fond of 50's and 60's design. There's something just so appealing about vintage design, just look at things like movie posters from that era right into the 70's, talk about a lost art.One thing I particularly like about your designs (and your site) is that you can make it look like it really is a cover from the 50s or 60s. So, in many cases it is my goal to make it look "vintage". I look at old LP's for inspiration and try to add my own flavour to it. I hope I succeed.
Johnny
here are the final covers, the track list is one I just added on the spur, I'll probably upload it without any so you can add your own.

insert

Unchained, Thanks for the feedback.
I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Is it that the insert breaks up the songs into side 1 and 2 but side 2 uses track # 9-16. If so, you are correct this needs fixing, I kind of added the tracks as an afterthought, I was going to leave it blank. But there?s a one thing I don't understand about this cover, it even destroys your hard worked on design a little. The thing I?m talking about is the fonts, it looks like you only use one text layer for the song text including 1 - 16 on the same layer???why? Now your song line up looks messy
Let me know if I understood you correctly.
Cheers
Johnny
Ahh now that's better.
Thanks for pointing it out Unchained.
