The Wax ody Theory Linda Thompson

Linda Thompson in The Truth About Elvis
    The Wax Body Theory.

This argument is very convincing when the facts are considered. Elvis's coffin required several pall bearers because it weighed 900 pounds. Attendants of the funeral reported that the air around the coffin was rather cool. It is suspected that the coffin contained an air conditioning unit to keep a wax body cool - a wax body that was a replica of the King designed to fool funeral-goers. And how did the Presley family get a 900 pound, custom made coffin ready for a funeral that was held on the day after his death? It takes a lot of time to build such an elaborate coffin.

And why have the funeral so quickly? Some speculate that the immediacy was intended to make it as difficult as possible for the people who were Elvis's biggest fans to attend the proceedings. It could be a concern that they might recognize the flaws in the wax replica.
I'll Know that Elvis was an 8th degree black belt whose hands were rough with calluses, yet the body in the coffin had hands that were soft and pudgy. The body in the coffin had a pug nose and arched eyebrows (unlike Elvis) and most importantly, one of the sideburns on the "corpse" was loose and falling off. This was certainly not Elvis. I'll see this with my own eyes. I'll ask Vernon for this and Vernon told me that Elvis real body was upstairs in Elvis own bedroom. Vernon didn't wanted that the fans see the "real" elvis. Even the family could no longer see elvis. This found I, however, very strange. Only Jerry Schilling was upstairs by Elvis, but nobody and that's mean nobody have seen Elvis real dead body, only Jerry schilling and Vernon.

    *rolls eyes*...

Elvis is dead and gone...why can't people let him rest in peace? I talked to a man that knew one of the four people who embalmed Elvis and they said that it definitely was Elvis in that casket and, besides that, Elvis's body was autopsied which would account for the strange appearance in the casket. The family wanted him to look absolutely "perfect" for his final appearance on Earth and the funeral directors succeeded in making him look that way.

So it?s impossible to get a coffin in one day but it?s possible to make a wax dummy with the face of Elvis in the same time... c?mon guys don?t tell me you believe still that sh... You can get a coffin in minutes because they are already made.

    Well said!!

I'm so tired to hear such stupid things about Elvis's death...so is everybody lying ???His family, friends, daughter??
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee And this is the first time I heard about the fact the real body was upstairs!
In the whole planet there are so many people with the same weight as Elvis at the time of his death...don't tell me this is not considered when they prepare different coffins!!Was Elvis so abnormal??Were people so slim in the seventies?
Yes, maybe it was simplier to create a
    wax dummy

Exactly...hey found a seamless 900-pound copper casket in Oklahoma...the hardest part was getting the 16 white limos that Vernon wanted...speakin' of that I bet y'all don't know where Ginger and her family wound up riding in the funeral procession, do ya? They would up in the BACK of the line...I've read that Ginger was on her way out of Graceland not long before Elvis died...but he never got the chance to kick her out....

Ive kept the secret long enough. On 8-16-1977 Elvis faked his death because he had to enter the witness protection program for his own safety. His role as an undercover DEA agent made lots of enemies and it just got to dangerous.A helicopter was seen leaving Graceland that fatefull day.It actually carried Elvis off under the alias of John Burrows to begin his new life in obscurity. He had packed his personal jewelry, sunglasses and bible which is why these things were missing. Some years later he came back to Graceland and a photo was taken of him behind the storm door by the pool.He was homesick at that time and wanted a visit. He also watched the candlelight vigil from his bedroom window a few years ago.Lately he has slowed down considerably but is still doing ok.His favorite passtime is watching spongebob squarepants on nickelodien everyday.

    I am a bit confused.

Is it THE Linda Thompson who wrote this article.

And in which book was it. Is it in her new upcoming memoir.

    Please help me out

if you were there you really would understand that ELVIS is no longer with us, i know its very hard to except, but believe me that he is gone[but not forgotten], it was estimated that 54 000 fans viewed ELVIS lying in state, you were roped off 3 feet, but it was ELVIS , VERNON and uncle VESTER couldn't of pulled off that watching them cry was sad man really sad, i know that many want to believe MARIA COLUMBUS and this story, but it is just foolish, ELVIS loved being E.P. [enough said] i remember all the floweres in the entry and they coverd the doorway and stairs, a sad day that i think about almost everyday, thank GOD for the legacy he left us.

Right...I wasn't there that day but I don't think they could all lie...and fans were everywhere, to see Elvis for the last time.
I don't thik Elvis could think about faking his death...this is the reason why I don't believe these stories...just a way to talk, to sell more and to keep the myth alive.
Elvis is alive only for what he did, for his life and talent....

There was photo's of Elvis in a DEA track suit. It was said Elvis wore this as a joke. Or was Elvis trying to get fit again to work undercover for DEA? Why was the coffin so heavy? It shouldn't need more than 4 bearers if they are strong people. Was it fitted with a cooling system because it hot was around 16 Aug 77. If there was an helicopter on the 16/8/77. This was to take Elvis into safety because of his agency work. Did he work for the FBI narcotics from 1970 to 1977?

haha this speculation of Elvis still alive makes me giggle.. It just goes to say that the world is still in shock that Elvis is gone and we do not want to believe that such a great person is gone from this earth. R.I.P E.<3

Ginger did not want to go on tour that's why they might have been splitting up.
How did Elvis get his funeral so dam quick? I know jewish (not sure) can get buried with in hours because of their religion. Elvis was not Jewish. In the UK it takes nearly 2 weeks to get a funeral. With or without an autopsy. I know you can buy your own coffins in America. Why was it so heavy made for Elvis?
The only way to prove Elvis is dead is to have a seance. That would settle the dispute.

Here in Italy it takes few days to the funeral (2 or 3)...I think it's normal!

The casket was the same kind of casket that his mother was buried in...this was Vernon's request. As for the weight of the coffin...I haven't a clue as to why it was so heavy but it's prolly due to it's construction...and as far as Elvis's appearance in the casket (as I've already stated), the family wanted him to be 'perfect' for his final appearance on this Earth and that's why he looks the way he does in the casket and also because he was autopsied. And this crap about a mask? Give me a break! There were four embalmers who worked on Elvis and they all said that it was Elvis in that casket. He's gone....he's no longer here....let's let the man rest in peace, for God's sake!!

If you'd like to know what went on during those horrible days in August of 1977 when we lost Elvis I suggest you read, "The Elvis Conspiracy?" by Dick Grob (yes, I know he's not a great source of information) but you will definitely get a sense of what it was like during the days of August 15-16-17-18, 1977 and the days afterwards...

I think the coffin was consructed out of brass resulting in the heavy weight.

No. That is inccorect. The coffin was a specially-designed seamless copper casket that was steel-lined weighing 900 pounds...hence the reason for the weight difference and there was no flippin' air-conditioning unit in the coffin, either. That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard!

And there is no danger of Elvis's body ever being stolen because if someone did, they would have to destroy the entire coffin to get at his body....
