    The Elvis "Genre" CD Series

I was curious to know what fans think of the recent Elvis "Genre" series of CD's that has been released by RCA lately??

Personally I have to say that, although some people might think this is just another in the seemingly endless series of reissued material, I kind of like the way RCA is assembling these CD's. The "Country" CD, for example, has some great tracks on it that are a little harder to find these days (GOOD TIME CHARLIE'S GOT THE BLUES, IT AIN'T NO BIG THING, etc.) and the "R & B" CD has a fantastic track selection (in my opinion, of course)...a nice CD to add to your collection, especially if you can't find the RECONSIDER BABY CD from the 80's!!

Yep i agree ... i guess overall its looking like a nice collection ... nice to have seperate genres like this , and finally in the best optimum sound [DSD]
These could appeal to the mere mortals too, not just the Elvis nuts like us ... and that cant be a bad thing.

    EXCELLENT POINTS DENNYELVIS!!!

As I said, some of the songs on the "Genre" CD's are getting a little harder to find these days, and to have them back out there available to fans AND remastered with the DSD technology is a DEFINITE bonus!!

You are absolutely right about bringing in new fans with these CD's as well...not only will the "mere mortals" be able to obtain CD's with some classic Presley performances, but they'll also get some songs that they may have never heard before!!!

    GREAT POINT!!!

By hearing some of these songs with the remastered sound on the "Genre" CD's, it will hopefully give more people incentive to browse around the Elvis world to see what other CD's they could pick up for their collections!!
