Hey! Good Job on this song. Keep at it and your voice should develop well. I love this song by the way, I've been working out the chords and picking style on it for a while. Eventually, hopefully, I'll get it. It really is a beautiful song and it sounds great on just an accoustic guitar.

Prayers go out to your auntie. I lost a sister, family members and a friend to cancer and it is evil. Hope things work out.
Got my family, my kids, my books and my music, I'm good, yeah, I'm good.....

Thanks for sharing the songs with us. If you keep building on that midriff without putting too much stress on your vocal chords, it should work out all right; you're relatively young, so be careful with your voice.

I wonder if you have ever considered singing songs by other artists? How 'bout Roy Orbison (there is an Orbison-song which is also called 'It's Over', it's a different song though)?

Anyway you look at it, it's great seeing that there are younger people who do sing and not only the empty songs we hear in supermarkets. You and Billy Gilman are some guys I know (not in real life - yet) who are interested in that good old-timey music and we should keep it up!

I'll just keep singing my personal anthem 'In Dreams'.. People probably felt that Roy Orbison was a nerd or a pussy, but I feel that he was a great musician and I enjoy interpreting his music.

Thanks mate. I love listening to that version, it was the first time i got the right note. I ahve been singing for about 3 years, and i have found that the more i sang regularly, the less my voice broke. Thanks for your advice

I have tried many other songs other than Elvis: Bob Dylan, The Doors, and my own material i write, which i am not going to share because i fear someone will take it, and re-record it and say it is theirs. I am not taking that risk. I tried one Roy Orbison song: Pretty woman, to be honest, apart from about 2 songs, i don't liek his voice

I can't take the majority of music today, but some good music is coming back: Norah Jones, Michael Buble, and down in Australia, there is a lot of good music. I have an album by a guy called Bernard Fanning, and that is really traditional. This electrical stuff just don't cut it with me

    Anywayz, next song for you

    you're welcome

    Anywayz, next song for you
Easy does it, Elvisdownunder and there's no better way to improve than practising a whole lot - Elvis did it and it worked for him. If you really love to sing it is possible to improve by lightyears.

I understand that you don't want to share your own written material. I get the logic, though you will have to share it with the outside world sooner or later, if you really want to spread the news 'bout your writing & recording ambitions..!

I guess that if you don't like Orbison's voice too much, it is up to me to sing songs such as 'In Dreams'. I'm not all that into Bob Dylan's voice myself (when I'm hoarse I cite Elvis: 'feels like Bob Dylan slept in my mouth') , so here's where you come in. I guess that there's a distinct role for us to play out and that we both have our own heroes.

Sweet Caroline seems to suit you well. The song contains some lower notes and it's suitable to widen your range. I agree with you on the electrical stuff; they should apply with care, just like James Burton does with the l-l-l-lead guitar.

I love to sing mate, it IS my life. In the last 6 months, by practising so much, and having a singing teacher too, I've been able to tackle songs i had difficulty with before like 'Steamroller blues' and 'Bridge over troubled water'. They are still a little hard to sing, but much easier than before that time

Its not that i don't want to share my own material, i do, i have sung one of my songs in front of the high school half of my school and got a good reception from it, but putting it on the net makes it subject for someone to take it, and i can't let people do that. I don't have copyright control over them yet either, i will have too soon, because i plan putting 10 of my songs on to an album for release in my hometown

People have different tastes, what i like about Bob Dylan is his bloody fantastic lyrics, and even though he is not an overly great singer, he sings with real truth and emotion. Roy sings like that too, but i don't prefer his voice mate

Sweet Caroline is one of my very very best, top 10 best actually. Those low notes are hard to get i telll ya.

    Heres my next song

I agree with you: although he (=Bob Dylan) isn't my favorite from a vocal point of view, he ?s a real and talented artist and his lyrics are great. We know that Elvis loved some Dylan-songs!

You stay alive, baby - do it for singing. I'm sure that people will like you.

SH91-Not true. There are, i'm sure, much better singers than me out there around my age. Honestly, i think i'm only above average, i have''nt got complete control of everything i can do with my voice yet. Don't put your self down mate, if you can't sing, there is SOMETHING you can do. Every one has their own individual talent mate

EnigmaticSun- I could never make it without supporters, whether 8 or 80. If you've got at least A person that likes you, you've got a reason to keep going. I have 2 permanent places where i sing, An elderly care centre about 10 minutes drive from where i live, and a bootsale market that runs from spring to summer that i provide entertainment for. The elderly care center, i actually have a show to do this Friday. In between them i try to get spots in talent quests or public functions, so i am always on the move

Big boss- Until i can get that theme song worked out, you can use one of my songs on radio.

Thank you ALL for your warm comments, each and every one is appreciated. I'd like to upload another one for you

    You sing very good

Have you recorded some of your own songs?

If, can you put some up here?
Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend - without a song.'

I have written over 100 songs, but i do not want to share any because i fear someone can easily take them and claim them for their own. I'm sorry
