I Found My Thrill Concert Only Review NEW CD

Firstly i tip my hat to the ftd team who did a great job with the sound considering this soundboard is over thirty years old,its not as recorded in Memphis 74 standard but still playable and enjoyable.i"ve read some comments saying NOT ANOTHER 70S SOUNDBOARD but i love these concerts and so do a lot of other fans, onto the show

SEE SEE RIDER starts the show in energetic style with Elvis in top vocal form and a great guitar solo from James Burton,a superb version.

I GOT A WOMEN-AMEN Elvis goes straight into this song without any of the well wells a good version.

LOVE ME a good solid version.

LET ME BE THERE one of the earliest performances of this song live. a good version.

YOU"VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING a superb version as good as any i have heard from 70-72.

SWEET CAROLINE This is one of the best versions of sweet Caroline if not the best ever with Elvis on top vocals listen to the whoa whoa whoas before the sweet Caroline chorus fantastic, some great karate moves to wards the ending, thats what it sounds like to me anyway i will try out some moves when i listen to it again, shit hot.

LOVE ME TENDER a nice version with Elvis interacting with the crowd, after the whoa at the end a nice whoo whoa ooh ooh which i have never ever heard him do on any version of the song before, superb.

ROCK MEDLEY A great performance of these classic songs every Elvis fan will be singing along, a nice wah wah guitar from jb on hound dog, not as good as HELLO MEMPHIS but still cutting it.

FEVER a solid performance with some good duke bardwell bass at the start superb.

POLK SALAD ANNIE a good performance not much different to the many 74 versions.

SPANISH EYES a real classic version, the best i have ever heard with Elvis and Sherill nelsons voices perfect together fantastic worth getting the CD for this alone.

SUSPICIOUS MINDS a good fast version of this song, nice bluesy guitar touches from jb to wards end of song, again Elvis probably doing karate moves at the end.

INTROS great part when Elvis sings a snippet of CHARLIE RICH the most beautiful girl in the world for MARTY ALLEN and says he will record it one day, because CHARLIE RICH needs the money i dont think he did not in 74 anyway.

I CAN"T STOP LOVING YOU A good solid version.

HELP ME- ELVIS was about to release this as a single in 74 a nice version sung well.

AMERICAN TRILOGY Fantastic version up there with the best of them.

LET ME BE THERE Second time in the show, slightly slower than later versions nice.

CANT HELP FALLING IN LOVE Time to take it home ,great with that big opera WITH YOU at the end where Elvis opens up his voice good version.
ANNOUNCEMENTS nice touch informing the crowd that CHUBBY CHECKER and WILSON PICKET were playing Vegas soon.

THE FTD ADVERT SAID THIS WOULD BE ONE OF ELVIS BEST CONCERTS,AFTER LISTENING TO THE CD MANY TIMES NOW THEY
    WERE RIGHT GOOD WORK FTD.

talking about the new ftd i found my thrill

my review is about the latest ftd release I FOUND MY THRILL, although there is some overloading-distortion on the tape the ftd team have done a wonderfull job. As i said in my review its not up to AS RECORDED IN MEMPHIS 74 which is stunning, but its as enjoyable as many other Elvis soundboards. I hope that answers your question Christel

I think this is a fabulous concert, basically because we have never heard anything in soundboard from this Vegas season before.
Only the Bootleg 'Something Old, Something New' which was an audience recording.
    - AND I loved the IFMT extra Bonus tracks.

I interviewed the audio restorer Jean-Marc about how he managed to get this CD from a very poor quality audio-cassette.

    Go here for interview.

It is a great concert to help us investigate Elvis' history of 1974.

    Cheers
    Piers
