    Fire Down Below

Hi all, I was just wondering if Elvis ever recorded the vocals for this track, to the best of my knowledge, it's not available anywhere, but maybe you know better
Also, does anyone know what the lyrics are to this track, if so, please could you post them for me? Thanks in advance for this

    Here's the lyrics...

    franny

Here comes old rosie shes looking mighty fine
Here comes hot nancy shes steppin right on time
There go the street lights bringin on the night
Here come the men faces hidden from the light
All through the shadows they come and they go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below

Here comes the rich man in his big long limousine
Here comes the poor man all you got to have is green
Here comes the banker and the lawyer and the cop
One thing for certain it aint never gonna stop
When it all gets too heavy
Thats when they come and go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below

It happens out in vegas happens in moline
On the blue blood streets of boston
Up in berkeley and out in queens
And it went on yesterday and its going on tonight
Somewhere theres somebody aint treatin somebody right

And hes looking out for rosie and shes looking mighty fine
And hes walking the streets for nancy
    And hell find her everytime
When the street light flicker bringing on the night
Well theyll be slipping into darkness slipping out of sight
    All through the midnight
Watch em come and watch em go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below

There not the lyrics I have on Jerry Scheff's one. Where you get those ones?

The ones I have start like this.....this is from memory now...

    There's a fire down below
    And it's burning outta control
    Man your battle stations baby
    there's a fire down below

    Fight fire with fire
    love with love
you can feel the heat coming down from above......

There the lyrics I know to the song from the Jungle Room FTD, they could be wrong though never checked....only going from what I heard from Scheff's version.

It's a mystery to me why an artist like Elvis didn't want to record anymore during the second half of the 70s. Why didn't he build a studio in his own house and spent some time there? Or why didn't he record a few tracks during the many weeks he had off between tours?

He wasn't forced anymore to record particular songs and the wasn't the same pressure to record hits as during the 50's, 60's and early 70s.

So why did he try to find excuses not to record even during the sessions in his house? One day he came way too late, and one day he didn't even show up.

So, so sad....... what else was for him to enjoy?

True Albert but E did suffer from depression towards the end, he had no drive and seemingly very little interest in contemporary music as well. He was a victime of his own success

    legacy

Elvis wasn't so interested in being hip. He could do hipness anytime he wanted to, but there were more essential musical loves in his life. Especially gospel and romantic music were his passions.

Over the course of his life, some things matured a bit. I feel that the King of Rock-status isn't correct. There's so much more to Elvis' legacy (not just or mainly Rock).

I agree - I don't call Elvis the King of Rock, I call him the King of all Music
You ask how long I love you, I'll tell you true,
until the Twelfth of Never, I'll still be loving you
