how tall was elvis really?

there have been lots of speculation on elvis,is real height some say 5/11 some say over 6/ft i know in one or to books i have read it says he wore lifts. can anyone solve this .

With the high heels he looked taller, but he wasn't as tall as you'd expect from a bigger than life person.

Look at some pictures from BLue Hawaii where he was barefoot and compare him with co-actresses

I heard it was 5' 10''.

That is around 177.8 centimeters........I that is a rough guess....if I am wrong then I am wrong...........

Haven't use math in a long time.......................


Multiply 30.48 by 5 and you get 152.4
Then
Multiply 2.54 by 10 and you get 25.4

Add 152.4 and 25.4 and you get 177.8



I guess that is right..............................

I heard that he was many heights. But the thing is, which one is his true height. I got this licence thingy that has all of Elvis' info on it (Like a real driver's licence). Let me go get it... *Runs to get it*It says hgt. 600... Is that converted... I'm thinking no. I also go this book that has statistics about him I hope when it scans y'all could read it. Just check out the attachment, it has loads of info on El... *Whispers* Even his weight! Well, according to this "Pocket Bio" his height is 185.42.... aka 6'1''. Did I do the calulations right?

His army records have him listed as an even 6' tall, and I'm sure that's with no shoes on. He was certainly taller then 5' 10".

Muhammad Ali is 6' 2'' and when you see the picture of him and Elvis together Elvis looks shorter than Ali. That is why I think Elvis was around 5' 10''. In the pictures of them two together it looks that Elvis is around 5 inches shorter than Ali.

Wow! Some people have too much time! How adament some "defend" their man Elvis and his height. I think I'd go for half an inch over or below 6 ft in socks. I do recall the interview from 1956 that several people mentioned on that page, and in it Elvis truly says he's six feet even. He was 21 then, right before he REALLY hit it big nationally. Why would he lie? Knowing Elvis the way we (think we) know him, he still at that time might have thought that was as popular as he would get. I don't think he realized he would be a household name around the world only a few short months later. And the reporter DID make a point of mentioning that Elvis was on the tall side (for those days), so yes, since that is indeed the most mentioned height for Elvis, I stick to that.

On a non-Elvis related note> I couldn't resist looking up my ultimate fave guy's height. Warren Beatty is listed correctly at 6'2". I know this to be true, for one of his football team mates is a neighbor of my cousin in the US. As a teen Warren stood 6'2" in socks and at the time he played football in highschool he weighed no less than 205 pounds! He sure had dropped a lot of weight by the time he shot Bonnie & Clyde!

Often, not always, that is the ultimate tip off that someone is wearing lifts or high heels. Women wear long boot cut jeans to hide high heels under. Guys with (unnaturally) long legs often have lifts hidden in their (already heeled) shoes/boots.

I checked a few places and it lists different heights for Elvis...
If I had to guess, I think he was 6ft.
