    Elvis all time country cd

I know this might be asking to much, but I want to put together all Elvis' country songs that bmg has released in studio and in concert on to a few cds. Is there anybody who can give me a list of these songs, both studio and live recordings so I can put them on a couple cd's?And maybe their opinion of a best of for one cd? I would do this myself but I don't have all the songs yet and think there are some fans on this board who could really help me. Thank you very much.

There's difference of opinion about what is country and what is not. To do your own custom set I think it's best to scan through a book like one of Tunzi's SESSIONS books and pick out your own titles. Some of the BMG releases have put songs in that I don't think should be there, while leaving out others that I thought would have been essential.

True, dannyboy, that there is a difference of opinion as to what is classified as country. Most Elvis country collections include songs that aren't straight country but have a country feel about them. Elvis performed some traditional country songs in ways that didn't sound that country, but he also sang some other songs in a way that made them sound more country.

I think a 'heartachy' ballad sung by Elvis generally comes across as country. I say that because that type of song is one of the classic country themes, because Elvis' voice itself fits that style, and because of the way he used that voice to so effectively emote those feelings of solitude and regret.

I recently made a single CD set that I called Just Call Me Lonesome. Sorry, but it looks like I didn't keep my list that had the source for each track as many alternate takes were used. This 24-track disc has a running time of 79:49. Tight, huh?

    Just Call Me Lonesome
    Thinking About You
Where Do I Go From Here
    For Old Times Sake
Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
    Twenty Days And Twenty Nights
    Bringin' It Back
    Early Morning Rain
    Goodtime Charlie's Got The Blues
    You Don't Know Me
    Pieces Of My Life
    She Thinks I Still Care
    Always On My Mind
    Mr. Songman
    Gentle On My Mind
    I Miss You
    For The Good Times
    Loving Arms
    Inherit The Wind
    Solitaire
    Sweet Angeline
    Fairytale
    There's A Honky Tonk Angel
    Separate Ways
...you won't forget me when I go.
