    Elvis in his casket?

    Hi guys.
I have a picture of Elvis in his casket, and I've sometimes looked at it the whole night!
It just doesn't look like him, only a little bit. He looks like when he was in his 20's.. What do you think, could this be a fraud?

    Nash's opinion

    Here is Nash's opinion :

She was one of the first journalist to see the body.
In her book, she said that a woman cried out: "He looks like a tub!"
But not for her. he also didn't look like Elvis Presley. She went through the line again, her mind racing with the possibilities of a hoax. She tried to ease her way through again but a guard told her that she had pass the coffin twice.
Today, she has no doubt that Elvis was in that coffin. What she found though was that one man refused to look at all. It was Colonel Parker wearing a Hawaiian floral shirt and a baseball cap. He never walked up to the casket. She thought it was very strange.

I've never thought that picture looked like Elvis did. I agree, he looked like he did when he was in his 20's. Another mystery that we will probably never find the truth to

It's not nice to see the picture but in my opinion, it is Elvis of '77.
We need to remember that he was a very bloated man at that stage, when a large person is on their back, their faces tend to drop back too.
What we are seeing is Elvis' face without the swelling that we saw in late pictures, because he is lying on his back, therefore, giving him a more youthful look that we were used to seeing in early Elvis pics.
Sorry if I seem a little blunt, but it's the only way I can get my point across!
We would all like to think that it's not Elvis, and he is actually alive and well, but the sad truth is that it is him.
Have any of you read Larry Gellar's book: Elvis, In His Own Words? On the first few pages he tells of how he did Elvis' hair for the casket viewing and how he aimed to make Elvis look more youthful by giving him the Famous quiff look that he had in the 50's, also by putting a light make up on to help him look younger.
So I believe that it is Elvis, sad but true!

    Terry the Ted,
I agree with you. I also read somewhere that... (God this is hard!) that when he was found he was lying on his face and that also contribute to the way he looks in that picture. I hate looking at that picture!

THat is definately him and I hate to look at it too. And of all people, a family member got bought off to take it! Can't remember who, but how aweful!
Got my family, my kids, my books and my music, I'm good, yeah, I'm good.....

It is true that a face can change after death. Of course, specialized people try to make the face look good and there are a few ways to do this, for example using make-up and doing the hair once again.

I don't know if the picture really shows Elvis. It does look like him and his face was youthful till the end, but I can't say anything definite 'bout it. Even if it is Elvis for real, it doesn't bother me. What would bother me more is that somebody would take a picture without Elvis' consent (would he really have liked to be photographed after death?)..

There are African tribes who party in case of death, because they feel that that person has gone off to a better place. There is jazz-music from New Orleans and although it's kind of cheerful, it ?s what they call 'music to mourn'. I just don't know if Elvis would have been very happy in this topsy-turvy world of heartbreak. I'm sure that there's no more suffering for him.

No it's no fraud, although the picture may seem weird. The background of the place where the casket stands is right between the door on the right when you enter the mansion.

I believe the picture had been taken by a far relative (far nephew?) for the NI.

I have this picture on my web site, it is sad to see but in the end it confirms that Elvis did pass away and not to believe the silly stories that Elvis is still alive.

The picture does show Elvis looking younger, I always try to look at the positive side of life and choose to think that Elvis' worries had left his earthly body and he had gone to a better place.... hence the look his body had at this occaision.

The fact some scum bag had taken this picture well..... thats another story

i think that picture does look like Elvis but then i can see how it is questionable. one of my favorite physical features of Elvis' was his nose. and why i sometimes catch myself questioning this photo, is b/c his nose looks very different from what i'm used to seeing. could the picture be a hoax? it's a possibility. but i don't think so.

Read somewhere time ago that the pic was taken from a different angle and they had to modify it so the face could be seen better. That?s why his nose looks different.

we also have to rememebr that the embalmers take all the fluid out of the body so that could have flattened his nose making it look different.

yes, one of Elvis` cousins, Billy Mann (who died after in car accident) for a crazy newspaper in the States. he was paid for that and took the picture around 3;00am in the morning when he was doing he duty tour at Graceland. the picture was taken with a regular small camera using a 110 Kodak film. That`s the story from 3 former Elvis` budys told to us in Memphis over the years!
