TTWII - 11 DVD Set

Hi Guys,

I know the 11 Disc DVD set of "Elvis-That's The Way It Is, the Outtakes" has been kicking about on Ebay for a while now, but has anybody on this forum actually purchased a copy of this set? And, if so, what are your opinions about the quality of it - sound and picture?

Does anybody think/know if all this kind of alternative material will be officially released one day - maybe when "TTWII" has another anniversary in the near future?

What are your thoughts on this one guys?

I really doubt that any of this material will ever be released. Turner don't see it as being of any value after the relative failure of TTWII-SE. From what I hear, quality is variable - better than the CBS film, but certainly not excellent. Also the 11-DVD set apparently has a lot of material used from TTWII and SE. I'm told the 6-DVD set has A LOT MORE actual outtake material. But I'm not about to buy either for some of the high prices I've seen on Ebay.

I suppose taking into consideration that Turner probably regard this material as not really of any value and won't consider the majority of it for any kind of release in the future, it would be well worth a purchase if you're a fan and have got the cash to burn.

But, have Turner not considered their own part in the relative failure of the SE? Didn't they screen it on TV just before the DVD release?!

The film screening on tv prior to the dvd release was one of the dumbest mistakes ever.I dont know how they thought that was a good idea.

I have 2 different version of this. First I have a 12 dvd set called ``that`s the way it is`` raw footage. Everything on film is probably there and it is about 18 hours long. Some footage are unusefull because they don`t have much interest to watch but it is very long to see. The other version is also 12 dvd set but 10 is all re-edited and 2 dvd are the full screen version and the rare letter box version of the film (ttwii).
For the quality, I wouls say some are very impressive and other very good to near excellent.
At our last convention both of this set was a very popular item for the fans.

Hi Dovey, well as you already know by your research on me (!!)on the net, I have a very nice collection but not much ``gadgets``...I collect what is reaaly Elvis..first music, films, amateur 8mm (600 hours already on videos), photos set (live concert) and promo cd`s, vinyl).
