I don't think it's a weird subject at all! Of course it is possible to feel the presence of someone's spirit. I remember an interview with an actor from a James Dean movie and many years later the man told the interviewers that at the place of the scene Dean's spirit was felt. Nothing to worry about there. So why shouldn't Elvis' spirit be felt?
Of course it is not exclusively Christian theology supporting life after death. Some may say that it's all the Christian's fault, but many (if not: all) religous and spiritual practices agree that there is a creator of heaven & earth and eternal life. Ask the Native Americans and they will answer that they acknowledge the Creator and life after death.
