Thread: Young Elvis Fans

  1. #21
It's great to read about so many young fans of Elvis. I'm now 46 years old and have been a fan since the age of 11 after hearing the terrific On Stage album in 1970. I had no idea of EP's legacy from the fifties at the time, I only recognized his work from the 68 special, thus like most fans, discovered his brilliance from that era as well. I think no matter what, when somebody discovers his genius, that incredible voice, along with his great stage performances, you realize why all the fuss and why he till this day, almost 29 years after his death, continues to make new fans.

There sure are a lot of young Elvis fans -- but I don't think the general public realizes that. One of the stereotypes is that all Elvis fans are old enough to remember the 1950s. A lot of people seem to think that when all the older Elvis fans are dead, it's over.
