Moody Blue - at the piano?

My friend keeps convincing me that once he saw Elvis on video singing Moody Blue at the piano in a 1977 concert and E was wearing sunglasses. He's sure about it. I don't think he's right but you tell him! Or am I wrong? Infos plz!!

yeah he is wrong..first of all Elvis didn't wear sunglasses on stage..he did a few times in 1974 but never through an entire concert..and he only sang Moody Blue love on stage once in Feb of '77.

Yep, 1935 said it well. This plain and simple didn't happen...ever. The only songs Elvis sang at the piano onstage in the last few years were "Unchained Melody", "You'll Never Walk Alone", "Rags To Riches" and "Where No One Stands Alone". I don't think any of them can be mistaken for "Moody Blue". In fact, I don't think Elvis' piano abilities would have been up to playing something as complicated as "Moody Blue".

I know of only one time Elvis sang Moody Blue on stage. It was in 1977 and it was rough version unrehearsed. That was the only time he peformed it live.

    That is right.

He tried Moody Blue (intro only) In Charlotte, Feb. 20, 1977, and did a full version a day later in Charlotte, Feb. 21, 1977.

The intro as well as the full version are released thru FTD Records on one of the latest releases called "Unchained Melody".

And he did not play piano on it.

    You are correct Rene

And Elvis never performed on stage while wearing sunglasses, although he did walk on stage a couple of times at the beginning of the show wearing them (Sept 1974), but he removed them immediately after.

I know there are several photos of these instances out there.

I have seen footage of Elvis walking on stage with sunglasses on,wearing the Tiger Suit in 1974.
He also wore sunglasses when he did his karate ''performance'' in Las Vegas.
