    Andy Kaufman

On www.youtube.com you can find many videos from legendary comedian Andy Kaufman among which he imitates "The Elvith Prrethley". There are actually three Elvis-impersonations done by him and "Keep the panties on" is the best I think, but watch it and write your oppinions. By the way he was a great fan of Elvis and he did this impersonations in the late '70s or the early '80s before his untimely death caused by lung cancer (as you could have seen in the movie "Man on the Moon")

What ever other people like is fine, but for me, I never cared for Andy and his Elvis impersonation . I just always felt it was disrespectful. People would say in the kaufman documentries and such like "I'm from Hollywood" that he did such a great Elvis. I always thought what are you talking about, its way over the top. So for me its a big

Andy wanted to get specific emotions from people , most often anger. When he was playing a Heel in pro wrestling He did it brilliantly, he could get the whole arena ready to kill him. As a comedian though I just didn't get him. He didn't work for me. I know he claimed to have met Elvis, in one of the Casino/hotel kitchens in the 70s. Don't know if its true but Andy told the story to anyone that would listen according to his friend Bob Zmuda.

I wasn't crazy about him, but sometimes he was ok at other times it was overkill......I know what you mean, though...he did look to get reactions from his audience and I'm not sure what he was going for, maybe anger or just any type of a response...

He was ok. I read some where that a fan told Elvis about the impersonation of him that was on SNL which was 1975 and it was one of the first shows for SNL. Elvis remark that is his own thing in life. I wonder if he ever saw it. I know he heard about it from several people including that fan. I bet he was laughing at him and saying DO I REALLY DO THAT?....................

I don't like Elvis impressions, but I've got to admit, this really makes me laugh ...
