Thread: Booed off stage?

    Booed off stage?

According to Priscilla, Elvis was "basically booed off stage" when he was starting out. Now, I know that not all of his early performances were successes (Grand Ol' Opry, for example), but I don't remember hearing anything about him being booed off stage. Is there any truth to this?

Never heard that he was booed off stage, only that he wasn't the "thing" they were looking for. Or something similar to that. If you think about what the music scene was like back then, its not hard to see that alot of people would have been shocked to see Elvis' live show

Elvis was never booed off the stage that I have heard of ... but I know at the Grand Old Opra the folks were to old to appreicate his type of music and did no do much in the applause department..... They just weren't ready for his music (being the sensitive guy he was)..... his feeling were hurt... Elvis never did return to theGrand Old Opera because of the way they treated him Dovey

why cant she just f*** off and get on with her own life after alll that was what she said she wanted
if lisa was with her at graceland when the american idol contestants were there which i heard shee was then i would have rather heard her opinions instead of his ex

To my knowledge Elvis was never booed off the stage. He was not well received his first trip to Las Vegas in 56, I think it was mostly older people there, but Elvis was never booed off the stage when he was where he should have been with the teens and guys and gals who loved him, that's where he was a smashing success!!

Back then he was the most exciting, extraordinary guy to ever sing on stage. Nobody could do the things he did and sound like he did and look like he did!!

It was the most exciting time ever in the music industry!! It has never happened since then or before!

What did she know about Elvis? During 1958 she knew much less than we do right now, because information about 1954-1958 was then much more limited. And I don't think that Priscilla has learned much more about Elvis' movies, 50s period, post-1973 period, the studio outtakes, and so on. I don't believe she's even a true Elvisfan nowadays. It's been fun and honoust during their private time, and she obviously will know "Elvis the human being" much better than any fan can know.

No, I've never heard that he was booed off stage at any time in his career either. Like Dovey I heard he wasn't too well received in Las Vegas the first time he appeared because he was playing to an older crowd.

I'm anxious to see the American Idol program at Graceland this evening and I do hope from what I've read of it so far that it will be Lisa and not Priscilla that will be presiding there as usual. After all what does Priscilla know about music, she doesn't have an ounce of rthym in her soul.........!

I agree with you guys, I haven't never heard of Elvis getting booed off stage, that is just wrong . The only time I have heard about the audience not really accepting him on stage was in his first gig in Las Vegas 1956, but other than that I have never heard of this.

That and I can't tell you the page now, because I'm not home but in the Day by Day book they talk of a time where Elvis was sick (or whatever) on stage in one of the mid 70s shows and disappeared several times once for around 30 minutes and , the book claimed that when the show was over people just got up and left quiet unlike most of the other Elvis shows where they're still cheering when he "left the building" . The first vegas engagment I've read where Elvis described it as a bomb, but not that the crowds were disrespectful, just that it wasn't his crowd at all. Which is supposedly why he was so nervous at first about returning there for the first time in was it 69?

I'm surprised she can speak. Her lips are so plastic now they barely move.

she was waving from her car with her sunglassses on like royalty
she doesnnt show any love for elvis
in that EBTP book she says elvis asked her for a separation and after that it was never the same
all she can blame it on iss that he was worried about his fans reaction and about being a dad
    crap crap crap

Elvis was never booed off stage to my knowledge.

I think she is just jealous of him still receiving so much attention.

I wouldn't call Priscilla an expert in all things Elvis, except of course in her ability to continue to live off his legend

she wanted to be the star from day one but she knows she hasn `t any talent of her own so she is jealous of the fact that elvis is so loved so she has to putt him down at every oportunity
how can she say such things about the father of her child ?
