Cool cover, thanks for sharing it with us![]()
Understandably some Elvis fans will be disappointed because Elvis is not featured right at the front and centre of the "Rolling Stone" cover.
BUT, nevertheless, Elvis Presley is in red! a colour the human eye seeks out. A Bonus image from 1958![]()
Therefore (inadvertently?) the magazine has Elvis more or less spotlighted!!! He stands out from the rest just as he did in real life![]()

"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
Thanks for posting....
But I don't like the cover. It's so typical: Elvis still not being recognized as an artist. What other reason would there be to NOT put him on the frontline? Didn't popular music as we know it today, the fame and fortune, the status, the sales all start with Elvis? Therefor, he SHOULD have been on the center, frontrow in color.....
But hey, on the other hand: one couldn't expect more from the Rolling Stone critics.

Elvis is close to an image that captures peoples attention. The woman (Madona) in a very particular pose, so... Also, the red, blue and bit of a yellow colors are close from each other. The human eye seeks for that combination, it's the most harmonious (there's a balance).Originally Posted by MauriceColgan

Thank you for posting that...
okay, so they put Chuck Berry front and center and they have Elvis off to the side sandwiched...There's something wrong there!

Much ado, about nothing.
Bob Dylan's Quote about Elvis Presley
"When I first heard Elvis' voice I just knew that I wasn't going to work for anybody; and nobody was going to be my boss. Hearing him for the first time was like busting out of jail."
The news of the "Rolling Stone" magazine cover generated a lot of attention world-wide. See http://news.google.ie/news?hl=en&ned...name_page.html
Jann Wenner founder of the mag and a great Bob Dylan fan just had to include Elvis on the front of his million selling publication.
We all know why:-)

The magazine helps Keep Elvis Presley relevent nearly 30 years since he died. That's what is important here.
The general public know Elvis's real place in the history of Rock 'n' Roll......... one magazine cover will not change their perception
http://press.xtvworld.com/article11303.html Was the most read release on XTVWORLD yesterday
I have to say that when I saw this picture in the paper on Friday, within seconds of turning the page and glancing at the picture the first thing I saw was Elvis!
I think he does stand out... but is it really important whether he's at the very front? It would be lovely if he were, and of course we all think that he deserves it, but I don't think it's meant to be a popularity contest... just an interesting magazine cover, for people, such as my friend and I on that huge train journey, to look at and try and identify all the people.
Anyway, he's on the front of a magazine, is clearly very visible and looks divine compared to the other people!![]()

To me, Elvis should have been dead center in this cover, but he still stands out more than anyone to me where he is at in that bright red color, it also seems to me they made Elvis seem alittle bigger than the folks around him
