    2 songs

i don't know if anybody noticed this but if you listen closely to "long black limousine" it describes elvis's funeral "there's a long line of mourners walking down our little street..." "and all the papers tell of how you lost your life..."

also "memphis tennesse" describes his divorce "marie is only six years old...."
lisa marie was 6 when elvis and priscilla got divorced in 73.
if i can dream of a better land

    Cool

Also I think some people may be under the illusion that Elvis wrote those songs and that they were some way prophetic....!

...just a little mistake...don't worry robman...anyway, I don't think that the 2 songs are really connected to Elvis life..

    I agree with you graceland123...

Robman- I know what you mean about Long Black Limousine. Not that the words are prophetic or anything but when I first listened to it, as Elvis was singing the words you mentioned, an image of his funeral did come to mind.

About Memphis Tennesse... well one year is nothing! I think it's just a coincidence though.

But Elvis does have the ability to make you feel as though every word went right through his heart and out through his mouth. I find myself believing everything he sang as though what the song is about was actually happening to him. Therefore lots of songs (Always On My Mind, It's Over, You Gave Me A Mountain etc...) are often considered to be Elvis singing about himself. But that's just his talent, I think, although I'm sure he used some of the passion he felt and poured it into the songs. Without a doubt he was a ridiculously GREAT entertainer...

saying somebody needs to learn how to count is a bit juvenile

It is sometimes frustrating when you think you hit on something, and than you come across people who know so much more about the subject. I've been there myself. I don't study the guy, I just enjoy him.

Just a fan... not an encyclopedia... (and on top of that I suck at math, and am a bad speller...)

hmm the opening line, 'water glass full of whisky' does'nt really relate. mountain is just about the story of his life, not 'fairy tale'

Which song says something about prison?
"I can't see my reflection in the water. I can't speak the sounds that show no pain. I can't hear the echo of my footsteps. I can't remember the sound of my own name" - Tomorrow Is A Long Time
