What about this as a front cover?
Hey, designers! Are any of you at work on one or more of the new Sony/BMG compilations?
I am most interested in seeing alternate artwork for the country CD. There's nothing really wrong with the cover, but since all of the songs were recorded in the '69 to '76 time period (and because I favor that period), I thought it would be nice to see a pic on the cover from that time.
I can't decide if the designers of the official cover just wanted to show a young Elvis or if the prospect of finding an appropriate photo from the seventies was too daunting for them, or what.
At any rate, I would love to see an alternate design for this one. (First image is the front cover, and the second is just a graphic that includes the tracklisting.) I wasn't planning on buying any of these really, but the country CD just features so many of my favorite songs that I couldn't resist--especially if they might sound better than any other versions heard on CD.
Thanks!

Thanks Tommy, i tried to stay as close as possible to the original cover, only added some pictures, and a little different font(s). And created the sticker myself, just got these 3 cd's last friday, the sound is pretty good, not as good as i thought, but you can compare the sound with all the latest dsd releases. Have to say that i not played the rock cd yet.
Good job Patricknice choise you have with the pics, looks great while staying with these colors.........
Love the backcover...

This is great, Patrick! I think it fits the era of the songlist better! I have no idea why they would put a picture of early Elvis on a CD that contains music from a later time?
Thanks for sharing!
Very tastefully done, Patrick! I was concerned that it would be hard to find an appropriate shot from the seventies, thinking that a photo of him in a sparkling jumpsuit just wouldn't be appropriate. But what you have done with the front cover really works nicely. It is a rather common image, but it seems an appropriate choice and adds to its looking like an official cover--and I mean that in a good way. Thanks for giving this a go.
