He wrote "Elvis 'N Me," which was published by Castle Books in 1988.

In his book about Elvis Charlie wrote, "Remembering Elvis for the purpose of writing this book, has created loneliness in me like a torment."

    Their comments:

" it?s great that Charlie doesn?t talk about "the scandals" and just remembers those funny and precious time with a friend. you don?t find anything new or shocking in this book what may be boring in this time of "great" :xx talk shows ala esposito but this is what Elvis surely would be thankful for. Charlie fully "

" no gossip very good! "

    " nice to read! "

" Charlie remained a friend after Elvis' death and this book proves it. It may not be the most accurate as far as truth is concerned but it certainly gives Elvis credit for being an amazing entertainer and a wonderful friend. "

I love that image on the cover.

It is a very simple book, not very well written or organized at all, as there is no connecting thread between chapters or sense of chronology. It is basically a series of stories.

As I mentioned elsewhere, Charlie was unfailingly loyal to Elvis, and that is mostly what comes across in the book. He had set out to write a book that Lisa Marie would be able to read and not get upset over; in other words, nothing "gossipy".

For those of you who might not know, Charlie was one of the proponents of the bone cancer story, which I think basically points back to his loyalty--to Elvis, and not the truth necessarily.

    Rest in peace, Charlie.

Didn`t Kathy Westmoreland also confirm the cancer story as well?

I don't know if I would use the word 'confirm' but yes, she supports that story and as of last year anyway (on Larry King Live) is still claiming it publicly. She actually did seem genuinely surprised when it was resoundingly denounced by the other guests.

    Dick Grob was another.
