The DVD Elvis & June A Love Story is "Awesome" they sure looked like they were in love.... Sure wish he had married a girl like herDovey

I just finished reading In The Twilight of Memory by June Junacio, and I almost teared up when it was over. I really didn't want it to end for it was it was a great book. It gives insight into Elvis's personality before fame hit him. Now that I've finished this book I'm searching for a new Elvis memoir. The problem is the memoirs are usually written by Elvis's friend's counsin's mother's gardener. People who hardly new him are writing stuff about him just to make money, and I don't know what to believe anymore
. However, I did read Me & a Guy Named Elvis and I thought Jerry did an excellent job. So if anyone has any more titles of potential books I could read, please don't hesitate to post.
Thanx!

I have and read the book but now I'll have to get the DVD Dovey.I agree that Elvis should have married June or Ann Margaret. I can't see him lasting with anyone else, even Linda or Anita Wood as as nice as both woman seemed and cared for him, their personalities weren't quite right for him somehow.
heres the link to wanda june hills book read the review and see what you think.

The Elvis and June DVD is well worth checking out.
The whole production is one of quality, the interviews maintain ones interest and the home movie footage offers a fascinating snapshot of the 'man' in the eye of the storm of superstardom which was just about to break.
Oh and the DVD has some brief bonus features which I believe I'm right in saying were not available on the previous video version.
'What, honey ? ..... one scarf for the balcony ?! ........... OK ........... gimme a baseball ! ............ there's no way unless you put a rock in it'.

I agree with you all. June Juanico?s book is one of my favorites and the dvd has nice footage of Elvis as a young boy just having fun with friends and family![]()

I haven't read the book but I loved the documentary.
Elvis needed a simple woman like June...but I think with fame everything changed for him.
I agree 100%. I wish it had worked out between them. They seemed perfect for each other. Elvis needed a woman who would stand up to him and speek her mind. I think that's what Elvis truly wanted in a girl..but -sigh- that didn't happen.I really like June, shes just so down to earth and real. I loved the documentary. It had great footage.
Is there more than one documentary on Elvis & June?
I thought I heard there was!
franny
For all I know there is only one.

'Are You Lonesome Tonight' may be an interesting read - but by most accounts it is (sadly) NOT true!
Are You Lonesome Tonight?
- First, De Barbin. The first outright lie is when the Louisiana honey writes that she first met Elvis in the spring of 1953 when Elvis, with his band, played a gig in her hometown. She writes they instantly fell in love, but she was married at the time and Elvis did not want to do anything to harm that marriage. It is a known fact that did not graduate from Humes High School until June 1953 and did not have a band until he joined up with Scotty Moore and Bill Black in the Sun Studio in the summer of 1954.

wher in her book did she say that she meet him in spring she said she meet him in the fall of 1953 and she did not say that he had a band he was on his on so all the details you have are shit just read the book
and you wher ther wher you
Now that is not very nice!all the details you have are shit just read the book
YES, of course I have read the book, i said that it was an interesting read.
No, I wasn't there. but YES Bill Burk was there in Memphis in 1953. (were you?). It is Mr Burk that wrote the info explaining that the book is not true.
Anyway, whatever Bill's comments (did you bother to read them?) Desiree is NOT Elvis' daughter!!! (as if!)
Quote from Bill - "Nine months later, daughter Desiree is born. That would put her birth somewhere about June 1954 -- still a month before "That's All Right Mama" was recorded and anyone knew there was anyone named Elvis Presley. She kept it a secret from him, she says, again so it wouldn't ruin his career -- in June 1954. "
I still am saying that the book is an interesteing read, just NOT at the top of the list of books to read by people who knew Elvis.
