    The station wagon thing reminded me of another photo I had seen on Paul's Elvis Page (Candid Central) years ago from December '76 in Las Vegas...

    As far as the station wagon, he probably wanted to call very little attention to himself & the MM. The fleabag Motel well, there's that really funny story that Elvis liked to repeat for laughs. He was booked in what was a 5 Star hotel in years past by the Colonel, but when he & the boys arrived it was less than great. He had the guys call around to find better accomodations. Finally one hotel clerk told them, "There are NO rooms to be had anywhere, don't you know that Elvis is in town?"

    too funny, lisarose. never heard that story. thanks for sharing. wonder if he managed to find himself an alternative that day.
