    Raw exciting stuff

This very short video clip from the Ed Sullivan show features Elvis, Scotty and the rest of the boy's ripping it up like only they could. Turn the clock back please. If you don't feel the need to move then there's something wrong. This era and the 68' comeback special were indeed exciting times.

    See it here.

    Hello there all,

I saw that show live on TV year's ago. It was exciting time's!! REAL exciting!!

You can get this footage along with all the other's from that era, I don't know if it's really available anymore. It is called "ElVIS The Great Peformances" Vol I, II, III and one VHS hosted by Priscilla Presley. So four Vol.'s in all in VHS format. Don't if it's been converted to DVD.

Yes, this performance of Ready Teddy is in "Elvis The Great Performances", a very good documentary...a lot of nice performances through the years and many interesting private clips or taken from some press conferences!
I have it on vhs recordered from tv...a short version hosted by Priscilla Presley; but there's also the version in 3 volumes, 2 of them narrated by George Klein and the last by Bono (U2)...try to find them 'cause it's worth of it!!

I have the video of Priscilla's "The Great Performances" (I really enjoyed it and, as usual, it got me pouring out tears by the end. Actually one of my non-Elvis-fan friends recorded it for me and fell in love with him during that video lol!) but I'm really confused as to why there are 3 further volumes. Are they worth getting in addition to the Priscilla one? Do they focus on separate parts of his life in further detail? Do they have even more content?

I love that clip of Ready Teddy- I love the expressions he makes with his eyes. Makes me giggle

Thanks for the link- I could watch it all day!

The 3 volumes are more complete and there's no Priscilla aroud Graceland. The version with Priscilla has some of the clips you can watch in the 3 documentaries...called "Center Stage", "The Man And The Music" and "From The Waist Up"...you can read more here, for example

    Anyone without her in it.
The George Klein ones are the best. The Bono one just concentrates on the 50`s.

    Talking The Great Performances

The great performances VOL. 1 & VOL. 2 are often available on laserdiscs and on VHS on EBAY> I found both formats there ; and the laserdiscs have the best picture quality.

Play.com are selling (new) The Great Performances Vol's 1 & 2 for ?6.99 each plus free delivery. DVD region 2. I've seen them on other sites for ?19.99. So if you're in the UK or have a DVD player that will play region 2, get your order in.

I find that short clip of 'Ready Teddy' to be infectious and electrifying. I just had to have the whole thing.

    Thanks for the story, Tommy.

    Hi Wendy,

Glad to know you have all the videos! I saw all the TV Shows from that time growing up. It was the hottest time I have ever seen in my life, with Elvis being so new and everything he did was so exciting back then. Elvis really did start Rock & Roll and he will always be "The King"

Thank you Wendy for your great new's, again I'm glad you have this set of videos.
