445: Elvis Presley + Col Parker Signed Document PSA Translation disclaimer
No matter how you look at it, Elvis Presley was destined for superstardom. The voice, the look, the moves--Elvis had it all. While he enjoyed moderate success in his first couple years under the guidance of manager Bob Neal, it would take a man of memorable style and innovative business savy to help the King reach his full iconic potential. Enter Colonel Tom Parker! After cutting a revolutionary record deal for Elvis with RCA-Victor in late '55 that forever changed the music industry landscape, Elvis decided to take a leap of faith in 1956 and give The Colonel full management authority over his career. A representation of this momentous change in Elvis' career, presented here is one of the earliest Elvis Presley/Colonel Tom Parker dual signed documents. Dated October 5, 1956, this one page document addressed to Special Projects Inc. of Beverly Hills, advises the company of the change in Elvis' managerial status. Revealing the terms of the financial arrangements between Elvis and Parker, the document advises the Beverly Hills firm to split all future royalties for Elvis Presley Enterprises, with Elvis receiving 75% and Parker receiving a lofty 25% for his managerial services. Executed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint, "Col. Tom Parker," and "Elvis Presley," with both signatures grading a solid "8". Displayed with two images--including one of Elvis and The Colonel--and a descriptive plaque, the document is attractively double matted and encased in an exquisite cherry wood framed. Total dimensions: 21" x 19.5". LOAs from Global Authentication and PSA/DNA.
