    The King's Throne.

    The King's Throne.
On December of 1970, Elvis sat down in his Hillcrest home for the only family photos of himself, Priscilla and Lisa Marie that would be taken. Elvis chose to use one of his green barrel back chairs from his living room for these photos. After these family photos were taken Elvis was off to the White House to meet with President Nixon.
This is one of Elvis original green barrel back chairs from his Hillcrest home. Jimmy Velvet purchased these chairs directly from Elvis' Hillcrest home. The chair has been restored and is in perfect condition.
    Price. $8000.

    Touching Base

I attended an Elvis Event in Brighton a few years ago and 'THE' Chair from this photo-shoot was on display at the show along with a couple of original Sun Mother Stampers.

I'm proud to say that I actually touched base with this chair, literally, by sitting on it for a few seconds!

Sorry, NEA, ........ I'm sometimes very blunt.

    ---------------------------------------

    IMO - it's just a "chair." (A re-upholstered one at that).

    Worded

I didn't mean for it to sound very pathetic and I think I over-dramatised the scenario by using the word 'Proud'....I meant it to come across as a 'cheeky' statement and used this icon:

You see, I wasn't meant to be sitting on it and when I was given a discreet nod I jumped at the chance - who wouldn't?...just for the sheer dare of it?...I love to live 'dangerously' (Shit!...too dramatic NEA!).

Some people have received a scarf from the great man himself and have decided to keep it and frame it....how sad is that Cappy?

Some people actually still put in bids and win his old concert tickets on Ebay...I mean - Come On!!

Some people have actually been to Graceland, and you know what they do? - they bloody take photos of his furniture and stuff - what's all that about ?

I plonked my butt on that chair of his - I need to get a grip too!

So, I mentioned it because it was supposed to be light-hearted...but maybe a fan (especially of the female nature) would think that I was a lucky man to do such a thing and perhaps they would have given anything to do that even though it's just a mere chair that was owned by another human being which has been very, very re-upholstered...

here's me thinking I've lived the dream...thanks for keeping me in check Cappy, I should really act my 38 years of age (just as well I'm not actually 10 years old eh?)...

I should be banished from this forum - I've sat in a chair that was owned by an Elvis Presley guy...although our butts sat on two very, very different re-re-re-upholstered materials of the same chair in very different time periods...

Jeez, that chair gets around...but it will still be an existing item when we're not - it's a ***** being a mere human being.

    Hi again, NEA,

    Understood.

    -----------------------------------

I, too, have done the whole Graceland thing (tour, etc.) a few times.

Yep, took a ton of pics, too.

I even got scolded over the PA system for leaning over into an exhibit a bit too far to get a decent shot of some of E's jewels (no, not those jewels ) ........................

My response, .............. hell I was paying good $$$ to be there, .......... so I just leaned in again & finished my shot.

    Cappy

PS - Take care NEA. All my best. You're cool in my book.

    No Bother!

    Hi Cap,

    No worries mate...

Sometimes you can be caught up in the 'Twilight Zone' of Elvis the Superstar as opposed to Elvis the human being and then next thing, because of this, you're jumping into his seat!

It was a wee special moment for me so I suppose I've waffled on towards one of the those tangents you can sometimes find yourself going on...

It all affects us in different ways...

Jeez, Elvis Presley - he's got a lot to answer for! (lol)
