I am reading the great "Elvis and the Memphis Mafia" book, but I came
across something, that struck me as odd - on page 152 Marty says that
after Elvis came home to the USA, after serving in the US army in
Germany, he broke boards with karate chops in the middle of Main Street
in Memphis. Now I always thought that he did that in private, and then
onstage in the 70's (and in front of a camera in the latter part of the
70's)??

I've never ever heard this story about Elvis before - I would assume
that he would have been mobbed by the fans that were so lucky to be in
the downtown on that day (or days??)

And on a little side note ...I've heard many times before that Elvis
enjoyed pulling people over for driving too fast and giving them a
ticket, but I've never read an account from someone that he did pull
over. If anyone can point out to me a website that has a story from
someone that was pulled over by Elvis, I would be very grateful - especially since I've asked this question on the Elvis newsgroup, but Marty didn't even answer me!

Are there any pictures of this event or events????
