    News From 1967...back In Time

HERE IS SOME NEWS FROM 1967...

Does anyone know anything about a new Elvis release in Malaysia called ``SPREAD IT OUT``? could this be a misprint of ``SPINOUT``?
    ************************************************** ******************
After ``Clambake`` Elvis is expected to film two films for MGM. They are tentatively titled ``Bumble Bee, Oh Bumble Bee`` and ``Potr Luck``.
    ************************************************** ******************
Further explanation on one of the comments regarding the length of the ``Tonight Is All Right For Love`` song. The German and Italian LP versions are 2 mins. 10 secs. long as we said but the version on the EP in France is only 1 min. 18 secs. long. The beginning of the number has been cut out.

A news paper not so long ago divulged that men wouldn`t be wearing ties in fifty years` time. According to this particular newspaper men will be wearing jacket-coat and shirt-jackets instead of the conventional shirt, jacket and coat.
Consider the clothes Elvis wore in ``Spinout`` and then agree that Elvis is most definitely a trend-setter!
    ************************************************** ******************
In ``Easy Come Easy Go`` Elvis plays the part of a US Navy driver who tries to salvage a sunken treasure. You will be either pleased or disappointed to hear that there are the usual bevy of girls, but they include some bizarre ``Beatnik`` beauties.
    ************************************************** ******************
In Melbourne, Australia, there is a man called ``Elvis Presley``. On investigation, it was discovered that he was a VERY loyal fan who had actually changed his name to Elvis Presley!
    ************************************************** ******************
One of the greatest tribute of all times must be the one paid by Scotty Moore who backed so many of Elvis`s recordings. He has an LP out in England containing nothing but Elvis numbers. (It is released on Columbia and the number is 33SX 1680). The tracks on the album are; ``Hound Dog, Loving You, Money Honey, My Baby Left Me, Heartbreak Hotel. That`s All Right Mama, Milk Cows Blues Boogie, Don`t, Mystery Train, Don`t Be Cruel, Love Me Tender, Mean Woman Blues``.
All the backing musicians have been associated with Elvis at one time or another. These being D. J. Fontana (drums), Bob Moore (bass), Boots Randolph (sax), Jerry Kennedy (guitar), Buddy Harman (drums), Bill Pursell (piano), and the Jordanaires. Unfortunately the late Bill Black is missing as is Dudley Brooks and Floyd Cramer.
    ************************************************** ******************
At time of going to press it seems that Elvis`s next single release in Europe and Britain will be in early February, titles are expected to be ``FOOLS FALL IN LOVE/INDESCRIBABLY BLUE``. These tracks are beleived to have been cut last October at a session attended by Chet Atkins. Early reports say that this could be the long-awaited World No. 1 for Elvis.
    ************************************************** ******************
Even though the next film scheduled for release is ``DOUBLE TROUBLE`` we hear that it MAY be replaces by ``EASY COME, EASY GO``. It is rumoured that this latter film may be released around Easter time, in which case ``DOUBLE TROUBLE`` would be released in June or July and ``CLAMBAKE``, the film to follow these two, would come out in November. None of this is certain though, so don`t be surprised if ``DOUBLE TROUBLE`` is upon us before you`ve had the time to say ``SPINOUT``.
    ************************************************** ******************
A bit of record news now. At the time of writing, Elvis next single is supposed to be released around the end of January-tho` in fact it may be later than that. From all accounts it`s the best thing Elvis has ever done! How many times has that been said? Still, they`re usually right. In ``Easy Come, Easy Go`` Elvis sings seven songs which means that probably instead of another LP we`ll get either two EPs (with addiotional tracks) or one EP plus a single release from the soundtrack. Also due for release around Easter is Elvis`s second religious album, the title of which hasn`t yet been decided, but it could well be entitled ``WITH HIM``. Originally it was meant for Christmas release but it could be an Easter one.
    ************************************************** ******************
In ``DOUBLE TROUBLE`` Elvis`s name will be Guy Lambert. Londoner, Annette Day will be called Jillian Waverly and actress Yvonne Romain will play the part of Claire Dunham.
    ************************************************** ******************
``The Heps Stars``, a Swedish group who have recorded many Elvis numbers, topped the charts in their own country with ``Don`t`` at the end of last year.
    ************************************************** ******************
The following quote from ``The Montreal Star``(Canada): ``What`s money, says Elvis Presley? He bought the $25,000 racing car he drives in ``Spinout``, drove it for a week, then gave it away.``
