    Charlie Hodge

    Charlie Hodge has just been diagnosed lung cancer. One of Elvis' long time freind has cancer. Lets all send are love and best wishes to Charlie.

    Oh noooooooooo Poor guy.My prayers are with you dear.You were so close to Elvis.In almost all my pictures you are either next to Elvis or a few feets behind.I even have one framed of the two of you doing that funny part when you reach the guitar to Elvis and get cut by electricity.We love you Charlie.My sister has cancer.She's had it for 7 years now.fight it.Try to stay in a good attitude,sense of humor.....Just don't get down.Now days this illness can be beat.

    How did Elvis meet Charlie?

    I think Elvis met Charlie in the Army. They became good friends and Elvis offered him a job while they were in there. I know that's not much detail, maybe someone could give us the background.

    According to Charlie in 1981 they met on the boat that took them to Germany. He was one of the guys who tried to cheer Elvis up as he spent most of his nights crying over his mother's loss, so much so that one of the officers gave him his cabin for privacy.

    I had a talk on the phone with one of the musicians who played with Charlie in Pigeon (Tenn) and he said that the news are no too good one day and the next day it seems to be feeling a little more better..but for now we have to wait for an official statement by Charlie` family.

    Many people were quite negative about the always laughing about Elvis' jokes. But Elvis needed a sidekick, someone with a cheerful character that could uplift his own mood. And I respect him for that very much.
