Sounds and looks like a very impressive release, Patrick.![]()
Today i recieved the dvd-audio/book/vinyl single and what a fantastic release it is!!
I was very impressed by the whole package, very nice colourized pictures, a good detailed book and a reproduction of the original that's all right, mama single and a dvd-audio 5.1 surround.
BMG could learn something!!
About the music:
This dvd-audio is in 5.1 surround, with a very nice designed start-menu and with each song a very nice Elvis picture on the background on your tv screen. Now i hear you think what about the quality of these songs? I have to say that on: My Happiness / That's When Your Heartaches Begin / That's All Right, Mama the sound is not much better than on the Elvis at Sun release by BMG, but very nice to hear these songs in surround sound...but on I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine / That's All Right, Mama (Live October 16, 1954) / Blue Moon of Kentucky (Live October 16, 1954) / Milkcow Blues Boogie / You're a Heartbreaker the sound is really great, you can hear the bass, guitar and the vocals as you never heard before! specially the live tracks will shock you, never heard these hayride recordings as clear as on this release! On all songs you get the feeling that you are in the studio or in the audience, that's a very big achievement by this label! So if you have the chance to buy this release...don't wait..just buy it!!
I can't wait for vol.2 by the Memphis Recording Service
