    About this photo

    Hello

I got several pictures of Elvis from the day his mother die.The one below with his father Vernon was taken inside Graceland. We knew that Elvis had Glady's coffin in the living room.On this photo it looks like if both of them were looking at her.Does anyone knows for real?or knows anyone who can tell us a little about this photo?

You made me feel badI know it was the saddest day of his life. Some say that Elvis was never the same.I was just wondering if anyone was there. If there are any pictures of Glady's in her coffin.I,personally wish that there weere none of Elvis. When I first saw Elvis on his coffin,I thought I was going to dieI just can't describe what or how I felt.I did'nt mean anything bad about the question.I love Elvis just like all of you.I hurt so bad the day he die that my Daddy had to take me out to the stores.Put my mind on something else.Still hurts. It will always hurt.
    My apologies!

I think it was the most traumatic event in his life of 42 years. He said "Everything I have is gone" and " I'd go back to driving a truck just to have her back"

Poor guyOf course the most beautiful and loving person in his life was gone.I can't imagine what loosing my Mom or Dad would do to me.My sister has cancer and we're very close.I just don't even want to think what loosing her would do to me.I guess that putting up that picture today was a big mistake.I tried to delete it,but was not possible.I am so sorry!I loved him too!!

    Hi Ayda,

Don't worry about the photo. Sorry to hear about your sister.

No disrespect Ayda, but what sort of person takes a picture of someone who is obviously distraught at the loss of their mother?

Who took the photos and how did they get out to the public. They shouldn't have let them on the grounds of Graceland. But someone did and the photos were taken. It shows how human Elvis really was. Most of us have seen these photos before. They have been around a long time. When the photos were released in magazines back then we all were able to see how devastated Elvis and his father were and we all mourned with them and how awful it was.

The series of photos of Vernon and Elvis morning after Glady's passing, where taken by the photographer of one of the Mmephis newspaper. Can't remember what paper or his name. Of course it was a very bad judgement asking to come in to Graceland and take pictures of the men in pain. But I can't help be to be fasinated by the pictures. They really do show an aspect of Elvis never seen. In his songs he could convay a feeling of total loneliness and hurting - but you never got to see it from him (of course Elvis In Concert 1977 is another example). But of course Elvis should have been left alone from the press!!

Anyay, I believe that this particular photo is taken inside Gladys' and Vernon's private bedroom. I base this on that another photo, with what I belive is the same curtain in the background, is definitly from there.

The photos of Elvis when Gladys died always freaked me out a little. I mean he was in mourning and some guy was there taking pics of him. That is a little weird. I feel kinda funny when I look at them. Like Im invading his privacy in a way. I have always wondered why someone was there taking pictures and why they let them. Very odd.

I know what you mean. There is one of him and Vernon sitting on the steps outside Graceland that is heart braking. There is always some heartless miserable criature without scrupless out to make a buck.In that moment his head was a rollercoaster.Poor guyMaybe his friends should have been looking out for things like this. But who were his friends for real?Anyone?

Probabaly was taken in there. However that room changed into Minnie Mae's afterwards and its only since Elvis died that EPE have made it back into Gladys and Vernons. ( There they go tampering with the house and the way it was again! )
