BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - The microphone Elvis Presley used at the Louisiana Hayride is for sale.
The Shure Brothers Model 55-S was used at radio station KWKH in Shreveport for the Louisiana Hayride program.
The microphone's other claim to fame is that on the evening of December 15th, 1956, announcer Horace Logan used it to announce to the crowd, "Please, young people, Elvis has left the building."
The winning bid for the microphone gets the full rights to the sound recording of Logan making the announcement.
The auction will take place December 16th in Beverly Hills, California. The auction may be viewed at Profilesinhistory.com.
