There seems to be no middle ground with Elvis fans about this album. You either love it or hate it. I love it. The original movie masters have slightly improved sound. The Double Features versions sound better to these ears.
The new outtakes sound great. I like the Middle Eastern sound on many of the tracks. 4 stars.

You're right, that album is pretty good. The cover looks just great and I really like it since I have seen it the first time. The only bad thing is the music. The stupid songs, Elvis' bored performances and the dull sound. But as long as you don't play the record, it's just great!

    Harum Scarum

Personally, I really like this release. While the movie itself may be difficult to take, the songs really carry the day. I think this release is wonderful in so far as the songs which were selected are good songs.

Re: FTD 28 - Harum Scarum

THe best song on here is So Close Yet So Far. Animal Instinct and
Wisdom of The Ages are interesting. The only other tracks that I have
time for is Go East Young Man and the title track. The rest is junk.

    Sound: 8/10
    Music: 5/10
