Hello boys and girls on TCB-world!

I was just wondering.. what kind of man do the ladies (and of course, some men) prefer? What makes a man handsome?

I think that Elvis looked good throughout his life. It is true that at some point his health started to deteriorate; but I can still see youth and vigor in his eyes in the CBS Special from 1977 - aging isn't fixed or absolute, my friends!

Elvis was there in so many ways.. He was very boyish when he started out (back in '53/'54) - although he never really did loose his vigor, he became less boyish later on - around the time of the Comeback Special and TTWII you can see this ripe, raw and male sexuality.

I liked the way Elvis was build; he had fine shoulders, a beautiful, angelic face - he looked like a Greek god (Apollo and/or Dionysos).

So what do you ladies and boys think of men? What makes a man attractive?

I was thinking that maybe some folks could start a thread here (this being the off-topic section) about manliness and beauty! We can post pictures of beautiful men here (keep 'em decent though - don't cause a ruckus around here with families watching)..

I think Elvis looked great in Blue Hawaii. He was rather healthy & slim around the time and the proportions of that male body were obviously visible with scenes around the beach! I guess that if you have had that much man.. then.. you are feeling rather pleasant!

Well, just keep the suggestions for male beauty coming.. Other persons than Elvis that I enjoy looking at

It's an interesting thread... I guess the concept of beauty is so hard to define. (I love watching "educational t.v", so... ) I saw a program where a group of scientists said that there is a pattern, at least talking about faces, that can be identified as beautiful. Those science people made an investigation and found that very little babies are able to reconize a "pretty face". Some faces pictures were shown to a group of babies, and almost all of those little kids found the same face as the most beautiful one. According to that research, Marilyn Monroe and Haley Berry owns the perfect face. And for men, the symmetry is the most important. Brad Pitt is a good example.

And after that scientific comment. I want to add: I LOVE THE WAY ELVIS LOOKED Through HIS WHOLE LIFE. You're right, his healt was not the best while Elvis was aging, but he always kept a touch of beauty. He looked great in [I]Blue Hawaii[I], in black leather, in 1972, in marelous '56...

I remember George Klein's words: "Elvis looked like a greek sculpure..." that was the first time I ever listened to that phrase. By the way, Elvis was a dream came true.

Beauty for me isn't "looks" only. It's beyond that. This may sound funny, but is the real thing to me, though I can't deny I like the way some actor looks like. An example: Johnny Depp. He's georgeous! And love his voice.

You're right - beauty is hard to define!

I guess that in the case of the scientists it is still 'relative'. A person may be having acne, a birth mark or obesity-problems while still being 'beautiful' - another human being may have got Barbie-statistics while being plain unpleasant and/or unattractive to some.

In some cases people just turn ugly because their mind is ugly; my impression is that age isn't at all that 'fixed'.

Of course it is obvious that Greek statues were examples of male beauty, but not everybody needs to look like a Greek statue in order to be beautiful.. (just my opinion)

I don't think it is strange at all that you like Johnny Depp - I do not exactly share your fascination with Depp, but that's okay; so many people, so many different preferences..!

My fascination is with Billy Gilman, for example - he's attractive and I like his voice.. And some others may wonder what makes him so attractive to me.

Let's just be glad that there is so much diversity! I love that..

Hi ya ladies (and gents)! Thanks for all these wonderful reactions - I know that opinions are very often different as far as (male) beauty is concerned. I must say that Elvis was very handsome indeed..! If you have had that much man, you sure are a happy kitten..!

I know Billy Gilman is very handsome, what do you ladish 'n genniemen think? To quote Frank Drebin: He's got a body to melt a cheese sandwich from across the room... It would be instant magic, just like Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley in the Naked Gun movies.... I can imagine a fire, baking pots, Unchained Melody and violins playing along...

He was a BEAUTIFUL man.There was nothing wrong with him from head to toe.Is true that here are a few good looking guys outthere,but NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is as beautiful as Elvis was.He was like a Greek God.He was every womans dream and every guy wanted to look like him.Country music singer Jerry Reed was ask once in an interview right around Elvi's death what he thought about Elvis.He said."Man,I was invited up to his suite in Vegas and when I walked in I could feel he was there.You could feel his precence.The S.O B was a beaitiful man!"Even guys admit that Elvis was just gorgeous!

I think Johnny Depp is just yummie!! I have a thing for dark haired men. Dont know why. Dark eyes, dark hair=weak in the knees! LOL!! I love Andy Garcia, a young Pacino, etc. I also think Josh Dumal from Las Vegas is absolutely gorgeous!!

It's true that a lot of women were melting for Elvis - and they still are. I think that Elvis looked.. like a Greek God! I think he still looked attractive later on; maybe not so strong from a physical point of view, but I would have loved to be in the same room; I just like looking at his face! But please remember that there are men who are very much physically attracted to Elvis

The face is very important, of course. Sometimes it saddens me that I am not able to find a lot of people who share my preference; they just think that Billy G. will be more attractive later on! I think that guy (with that delicately beautiful face) is making me weak inside..

A lot of the ladies just do not understand; they are interested in men such as Johnny Depp, Robbie Williams, Brad Pitt.. I think that I am from another planet!!
