tiger!!!!!
What is your FAVORATE jumpsuit Elvis wore? Mine is the "King Of Spades"
I did it my way.
tiger!!!!!
Hard to pick just one, but would have to go with the earlier variations (1969 - 1970). I especially like:
Black/Blue Herringbone (1969)
Peal Collar (1970)
Apache (1970)
Chain and concha suit
Old Times they are not forgotten
Johan
They're so many that I like, but the ones bellow are my most favorite.
Aloha and Memphis![]()
Man,I just work here!(Elvis 68')
My fav's are Tiffany 1972, and Red Matador 1972.

I like the Indian Feather a lot, shame elvis didnt looked that good by then, I like to imagine Elvis wearing that one in 1970.
The '72 American Eagel is a not very well known that I thin was even better than the '73 aloha eagel one.
he looks absolutely stunning in that one
this is my favorite pic where he's wearing it
thanx everyone for all the posts!![]()
I did it my way.
No picture attached, but it's the Orange Sunburst (or the kitchen sink suit, as Elvis called it). When he wore it in Las Vegas in early 1973, he looked just great!
Love E. but HATE the jumpsuits!!!!!!!![]()
Or let me say, I just like anything he wears, as long as it doesnt look like a darn jumpsuit!!!
i loved the white one with the red edge that he worn in "That's the Way it is" whilst singing The Wonder Of You. ooh and the other jumpsuit from "That's the Way it is"- the one with the metal studs down the edge he wore when singing Suspicious Minds. Am not so keen on the really busy, over-the-top ones... understated is better!
Love Elvis

The "Orange Sunburst" is not the so called "Kitchen Sink Suit". The "Multi Sequined Suit" (aka "Memphis Suit") has that nickname. And it wasn't Elvis who called the suit by the nickname but designer Gene Doucette. They were in a panic because Elvis ordered a suit overnight which means he wants to have it yesterday. But Gene and his staff used up all usable material to design a proper pattern. They opened and emptied all drawers and started to work with what they had. After it was done Gene said: "We used up all but the kitchen sink!"Originally Posted by orwell1976
I love nearly all of Elvis' suits, but the two I love the most are the Indian Feather and the Blue Nail suits.
I like the Indian Feather, because of it's fancy details, and the Blue Nail for the lovely powder blue color w/ the silver cape.![]()
"Don't tamper with the property of the U.S. Male"
Thought I would wait to see a few choice before I put up my choices............
There aren't many Jumpsuits I don't likebut if I was pushed to choose it would be 1971 and 1972, I love the porthole style which crossed over so many Jumpsuits :-
Black Fireworks 1971
Black Matador 1971
White Fireworks 1971
White Spectrum 1971
White Matador (Red Lion 1972)
Adonis 1972
Black Butterfly 1972
Black Conquistador (Black Way Down) 1972
Blue Nail 1972
Double Porthole 1972
Red Matador 1972
Royal Blue Fireworks (Owl) 1972
White Pyramid 1972
The porthole design crossed over different colours; Red, Black, Blue & white. It is a testiment to this style that it looked so good and was used more frequently than any other design feature in the Jumpsuit history.
The Double Porthole is one of my favourites along with the Spectrum.
Having said that the Aloha Jumpsuit (1973) is Iconic, the American Eagle (1974) is a little over the top but still great.
Whilst I like the Chinese Dragon (1974) and Mad Tiger (1974) they lack something I can't quite put my finger on!
I love the Flame Jumpsuit (1976) but think it didn't suit Elvis at the time that he wore it.
I also like the simplistic looking Jumpsuits they don't detract from Elvis e.g. The Concha (1970), Indian Stone (Now Jumpsuit 1971) White Nail (Apache 1971).
The Indian Feather (1975) and Ace of Spades (1974) have fantastic detail and colours.
The Mexican Sundial (1974) is unfortunately not one of my favourites, I like the pictures I see of Elvis wearing it in 1974 but somehow link the king as being unwell when I see it in 1977![]()
I also Like the simple embroidery of the Red, White & Blue Bird Jumpsuits, they are understated and stylish.
Oh hell................................ I love all Jumpsuits![]()

I'm sorry to correct you BBM, but the "Blue Nail" didn't have a silver lined cape. It was white lined.Originally Posted by Big Boss Man
