Guys,

Anybody read a copy of 'ELVIS' A Biography by Jerry Hopkins? It was first published in 1971/72 (?) and is classed as the first 'definitive' biography of our man. If so, what are your thoughts on this work by the author?

Does it still stand out as a 'definitive' piece when compared to the likes of Peter Guralnick's two 'masterpiece' volumes, or any other book that was published thereafter?

Did Hopkins get the go-ahead from Elvis or Parker to do the book?

And, how about the so-called sequel that Hopkins published - 'Elvis: The Final Years'...is it a worthy sequel to his first offering?

Any thoughts or information guys?

Cheers,

NEA.
