As far as I'm concerned the artwork used on the front of the LP would have made and even better candidate for the U.S. postage stamp than the great art that was eventually chosen.
The LP itself collected 11 songs that had been "enhanced", with mostly new drumming and bass work being overdubbed. I've read that RCA was trying to capitalize on the Rockabilly Revival that the Stray Cats had sparked at the time.
I always loved the LP and thought the overdubbing was just right, nothing in the vain of Felton Jarvis' "Guitar Man" LP overdubbs. The track list is:
My Baby Left Me
You're So Square
Little Sister
Don't
Wear My Ring Around Your Neck
Paralyzed
Baby Let's Play House
I Was The One
Rip It Up
Young and Beautiful
Ready Teddy
What are the chances that FTD will release this on CD? If the "Guitar Man" LP was worthy of FTD's time and attention, this LP surely is.
Would love to see what some of our graphic masters can do with the artwork from the LP. If anyone would like a High Quality scan of the artwork, let me know, I'll be glad to email it to you.
