Aloha...not even close. Pittsburgh is popular because of a bootleg album.
How anybody can say he was going through the motions for Aloha is beyond me. The Aloha was not a normal show, the stakes were huge, not too mention they were also playing to third world countries for the first time. He was restricted, he was on the clock, and even fans were told that they had to remain in their seats. Vocally he was superb nailing at least a dozen songs. Pittsburgh was great as well, especially with it being a more "normal" concert setting as opposed to the Aloha special. I truly believe the intention of the Aloha special was to focus on Elvis' voice, also not to ruffle any feathers by being conservative. It was like the Super Bowl of concerts, nothing fancy, just get the job done, which he did tremendously, the astronomical success of the show bears that out. I think we tend to think with Elvis looking so great for this special, we expected a physical performance like TTWII, which even for Elvis, was an impossible act to follow.

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons.... I prefer Elvis of 1972 than either 1973 or 1976.
I also disagree when people say Elvis' voice was better in 1973-1977 than it was in 1970! it was different for sure but better? IMHO TTWII beats anything he did for the cameras with Elvis on Tour a very close second.
Aloha from Hawaii's set list wasn't the best that's for sure.........
I think the songs on the Aloha form Hawaii show are very powerfull, like What now my love,It's over,You gave me a Mountain etc., and I think the people have seen this and were amazed about his voice that was so powerfull.I think that was the message of that concert, too show the world how good he was...
I'd like to go to Graceland
