Elvis totally changed his set up for this show, and it is AWESOME. if you love blues stuff, you'll love this cd. its one of my faves, and the rehearsal is good to. the reviews are true to what they say. ENJOY!
I just ordered this CD and I can't wait to hear it. I guess it's from '74 when Elvis tried out a new show and then changed his mind and went back to the routine.
Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect? I've read some great reviews and i want to know if I can trust them.

Yes, you're right. This is a great cd with an excellent performance. Elvis re-invented his show and performed some ultra rare stuff like GOOD TIME CHARLIE'S GOT THE BLUES or DOWN IN THE ALLEY. The king was in a very good voice and the sound quality of the recording matches the show!. The rehearsals are interisting, too. There's a fun-version of FADED LOVE and the mother******-version of PROMISED LAND. And beside the great content, the artwork is done beautifully.

I think you'll greatly enjoy this CD set, tjs. While the show is certainly historic, I personally enjoy listening to the rehearsals even more. That's The Way It Is whenever you're listening to rehearsals or outtakes; you get that great 'fly on the wall' perspective.
His voice was in fantastic shape at that time. I thought he sounded slightly downbeat during the show though--which is surprising when you consider the new song lineup--starting with his introduction of himself as the NBC peacock. But the show is definitely a great listen for its fresh songlist, and the sound is really good.
The real ear candy for me has got to be the rehearsals though.
...you won't forget me when I go.
