Most unlike Elvis song...

This is a pretty similar question but I've been thinking of this for awhile.

Moody Blue is one of my absolute favorites. I think it is very different than any other song he did and I can't picture anyone else doing it as well.

What other songs do you put in your personal category like this? That is, songs that are different for Elvis and ones you just can't hear another voice doing?

I think Way Down its also a diferent kind of song, but I guess both Way Down and Moody Blue sound like that because those were the changing styles around that time and we dont have more material in that same groove because, well you know why... THere?s A Fire DOwn Below souded like the perfect follow up single for Way DOwn, shame Elvis didnt made a vocal track for that one.

Two songs that I think they are great and they are also diferent from anything else made by the King around the time he recorded them were: "We Can Make THe Morning" recorded '71 released ' 72 and "Thinking About You" recorded '73 released '75. They Both had the potential to have been hit songs, but somehow they were used as B sides and were hardly noticed.

"Thinking About You" is an excellent example of what I'm trying to get at. it just felt different. In some ways "Such a Night" is a very special. It swings like very little else.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water"... A beautiful song, pure Elvis' style.

I think you can put "My Way" in the same category...
And " in the ghetto"

"I'm Leavin" is one that seems not Elvis as does the song "Life"

"I GOt Stung" this one is kind of diferent not only among Elvis 50's songs but among 50's rock and roll stuff back then.

"His Latest Flame" very diferent from the rest of the pop and rock and roll singles around '60 and '61. (This could have been a release from a new group in the early 80's)

Yet, because the above songs became very well known Elvis tunes, do not seem to odd nowdays.

All songs mentioned are beautiful.

"Thinking About You" is one of my favorites as well.

The thing with Moody Blue, which obviously is a change in musical style in a way (as well as Way Down for that matter).

With the song Moody Blue I guess "they" wanted to approach the ABBA sound at that period in time, since it was very, very popular.

I Remember 'Edge Of Reality' sounded so.. different! It's a great song.

People have said that they think 'The Last Farewell' was un-Elvis. It is also 'different', but I can imagine Elvis having a liking for this kind of song, especially in that part of his life.
