Did Anyone Here See Elvis Live?

I am always fascinated when people talk about seeing Elvis live. I never got the chance, but Ive always wished I could've seen him in person. Ive always wondered so many things like how did he sound and how did he look in person.

So my question is, did anyone here ever see Elvis live in person, and if you did what were your impressions of him?

I saw him at Kiel Auditorium on 3-22-76 sold out. He wore the Blue Aztec suit. A very mixed crowd, old, young in between-black and white. Pretty good show, was attacked on stage by a middle aged woman during You Gave Me A Mountain.
Got pretty wild. During Hound Dog there were 6, 12-14 year old, girls sitting in front of us who stood up and jumped up and down screaming. Flash bulbs lit the auditorium for the whole hour like a strobe. He did not slur his words, but did not talk a lot. He did great versions of Hurt and America the Beautiful. My wife who was not a big fan said excitedly when he walked out and looked up our way(nose blood seats)" He smiled at me, he smiled at me!!!" We'll never forget it

Hi. Thanks for that question. I saw him in 1976 in Memphis Tn. He was wearing the prihistoric bird suit with blue sleeves. He seemed very much together to me, and now that I have the recording, I can tell that he very much wanted to please the crowd. I remember the lights going down and my heart raced * I was 10 years old* The theme started and the drum rolled and out he came. I thought he was the coolest looking dude in the world, I didn't notice at all the extra weight. I was too enthralled with the whole experience. I remember he joked around a bit, brought the lights up to look at everyone, and I remember him saying, before doing "That's allright mama", " Someone told me I was too old to do this song and I say By God You Just Watch Me." I thought he was great! And I thought it was over way too soon. I danced and sang in the aisles and people kept yelling "Sit down Kid!"
My Mom saw him in 1975 in Memphis and yelled "Hey Elvis" and he answered her.
My Dad was a policeman In Memphis and was his escort for a day at a football game there and got to talk to him for a couple of hours. There is a picture and story in the gallery of that. Just go to the gallery, 70's, then backstage and it is listed as Memphis 1974., if you want to go look and read.
Thanks again. I hope alot of people answer this. I love to hear personal stories.
Got my family, my kids, my books and my music, I'm good, yeah, I'm good.....

    Elvis in Person

My husband and I saw Elvis twice on stage. The first time was at the Oakland Coleseum in I think 1971 or 1972 and the second was at the Sahara Tahoe in 1973. Not sure of the dates or even what he wore anymore because we were so enthralled by the person and his performance. I remember at the first concert my husband's comment of "his voice is so strong he wouldn't even need a microphone". I felt he did look a little unhappy and distracted in Tahoe but his marriage was either over or in the process of breaking up. As I said, I'm not good at dates. He did look strong and healthy though and in full control. No sign at all of having problem with drugs. I also thoroughly enjoyed the interaction he had with his band members and background singers, also how he treated the fans. No need to have mention what I thought of his looks, as we all know, he was like something unreal!

I have been going crazy trying to remember just what he wore at those two concerts. I just have an impression of possibly the paisley shirt in Oakland and he wore one of the white jumpsuits in Tahoe. I've checked the dates the suits were worn and still can't pin them down and don't have a clue.......

    Nearly Did!

    Well, I nearly saw him?.

I was 15 and a friend of my Mother who was a big Elvis fan made me an offer of a lifetime!

She knew I had been an Elvis fan for some years, since I was only 6 years old and saw him in Clambake at the local cinema.

Anyway, this friend of my Mothers told her that she was going to the USA to see Elvis in Concert with her husband, and if I wanted to go with them I was very welcome to join them.

I remember the cost was ?260 to travel with the British Fan Club, this included at least 2 shows, airfare and accommodation.

I tossed and turned, mulled it over, but I really didn?t know this lady and her Husband at all, I was only 15, never been away from home, never mind the otherside of the world.

I had heard many rumours that Elvis was coming to England soon, so I declined to go, with a heavy heart.

They went to the USA, saw Elvis twice, got loads of photographs, which they gave me a copy of, and my prize gift a genuine Elvis program from the show, they told me how amazing he was....oh how I wished I had gone with them, maybe next year????

    The show they attended?

Indianapolis 26th June 1977...6 weeks latter, Elvis died.

Oh how I wished I had gone with them!
