the song I choose for the non-Elvis fan

If I had to pick one performance or song to show a non-fan who Elvis really was, I'd choose either "Jailhouse Rock" from the 68 Comeback Special, or "Big Hunk Of Love" from the Aloha From Hawaii Special. Both are just killer performances.....

Well seeing as in my first post I put three songs...but if I had to play just ONE it would be handsdown IF I CAN DREAM from '68 Special !!!
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

I would chose a few songs from early on in Elvis' career such as: Heartbreak Hotel,Don't Be Cruel, That's Alright Mama & Don't. And i would introduce them into some of his later recordings like: Suspicious Minds,Gentle On My Mind,Little Sister, Promised Land & If I Can Dream. But there are tons of songs out there and its hard to narrow down only a few!LONG LIVE THE KING!
I want you, i need you, i love you...with all my heart.

It's very tough to get a non-EP fan to listen with an open heart, though; like so many things today, your average person justs swallows the media-hype he's been force-feed. In other word, people don't think (or listen), but instead use all the pre-fab that's been jammed into their heads.

Anyway, Just Pretend is a beautiful start. The whole TTWII album, really, anybody with sense should like.

Great choices everybody, thank you for your participation so far

I have updated my choices too:

VIDEO: You've lost that loving feeling TTWII
    AUDIO: Just Pretend -original master

I love the years of 1969 to 1970, Elvis was at the top of his game, and nobody topped his top either in that period.
sincerely, Scott, a 15 year old Elvis fan

A Song you would choose to show to a non elvis fan

I would choose C.C. Rider and Just Pretend
"Its An Elvis Thing Man, You Just Wouldn't Understand"

I start with some gold Rock n' Roll Great songs like
    "Mystery Train"
    "That's all Right"
    "Don't Be Cruel"
    "Jailhouse Rock"
    "A Big Hunk O' Love"
    "Stuck On You"
    "Proud Mary"
    "Suspicious Minds"
    "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"
    "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
    "See See Rider"
"Lawdy, Miss Clawdy" (Elvis On Tour)
and then, let the non- Elvis find out the rest of the History, if they want to know about more and that will get them started after you tell them the good stuff and the facts about Elvis The King Of Rock n' Roll!!
