Hitstory DVD cover

Hello, i started working on a cover for the hitstory cd release, i have a audio programm that can make 24bit dvd-audio, in that recording you can place 5 regular cd's on just 1 dvd. The cover is completly based on the hitstory cover.
Hope you like my cover so far...

And yes Ron i know about the back side, but i was playing around with the tracklist, and couldn't find out a good way to present that, yesterday...and it was in fact pretty simple...a booklet..so the tracklist will be presented in the booklet,so i changed the backcover a bit. With a different and very cool picture. Hope this is for the better..

Nice cover so far, but I agree on the backside text. It would be a lot better above Elvis, or maybe place it from top to bottom on Elvis' left side...??? Maybe you could use a color where no shadow is needed...????

Thx Hans, Ron and Tommy for the nice comments. The funny thing is that did place the text above the picture, but it looked even more strange than now...
But i will try something different in the next few days.

Only the best for the fans... No it is a pleasure to work on this cover, and with all the comments this cover is becoming a good cover, very different ( i hope) than my previous covers. Unchained made that clear a few weeks ago, that all my covers are in the same style..and that must try do something different. I hope i did just that with this one.

It's Today Design, but not complete yet. Still working on this cover, but a little out of ideas at this moment. The copyright thing you refer to is only yet for to make ita little official. I;m working on a new copyright box design as we speak now, i used one of Ron's dvd covers for the correct size, i'm always confused about the right sizes. But have to add also the dvd-audio content ect. so it's a long way to go before this thing is finished.

but isnt that breaking the copyrigth laws

Every cover we make, is breaking copyrights, we put aal the logo's on it..ect.
But if sony/bmg refuse to make some decent covers, than we must do it.. , so we designers hope that will continue to make these not so good covers, so we can make some more alternates..
For about breaking Unchained copyrights, i only used 1 of his dvd covers for the right dvd-case size, and a new box for the copyright text is in progress, so i'm not breaking any laws here...i hope.
But here is the final cover, with all the adjustments, hope you all like it!

Glad you both liked it. The cover was getting better and better by each preview, with a little help from Unchained, he gave some points to re-create ect. and it helped the cover to improve even more. He really has a eye for details .
As soon as i made the final touches on this cover it will be for download. Have to make a insert for the tracklist ect.
And than up to my next little project, a single cover for a christmas release, but don't know exactly wich song(s) to choose. The song that will be on it: I'll be home for christmas, love that song!

mate it is great, i want a copy money no object...great to see you used a 1956 shot of E...what a shame he flopped in vegas then...but man the world did not know what was about to take place...
