Well, I just submitted my poem that is "set" in Graceland...
** cough, cough.... ^^ shameless self-promotion **
...but I've never actually been.
I was chuffed with myself when I located Graceland using Google Earth the other day - and then tracked across to my own house. The world is such a small place. Does that count?
Seriously, a recurring theme I hear of is the size of Graceland - or lack thereof. Although the house has acres and acres of land attached to it, the size of the house is surprising yet a potent testament to Elvis' humility. Granted, times were different back then and Elvis did have other properties... but how many celebs would settle for something that size today? Moreover, how many celebs would settle for something that size and have relative/friends living there on all manner of bases (some temporary, some permanent)? Quite remarkable.
