This photo is special because menwithbrokenhearts saw their father in this photo he is the police officer looking at the camera. Menwithbrokenhearts wanted an 8x10 of this so I gave it to them.

Thank you so much for doing that for me! I could not believe that I found that! Very exciting indeed! I called my dad today and told him and he was amazed that it existed and very excited to get a copy. I'm going to have one printed and framed for him, and then one for me with him signing " Me 'n Elvis" and his name. COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, here's the story....

My father and some other policeman were called out to the Liberty Bowl Stadium, in Memphis, to escort a VIP for the WFL game (the Memphis Grizzlies). They weren't told who, just told to meet at the skybox. Apparently after about a half an hour, In walks Elvis, Lisa Marie and Linda. Dad says Elvis ignored most of the rich people that were trying to hobnob with him and made a B Line over to the policemen and began to chat it up with them before the game. Dad said he was very laid back and nice and enjoyed talking to him. He doesn't remember specifically what they talked about but my guess is policework and football, considering that Elvis was very much into these two at the time. Dad said he also noticed that whenever music was being played , his legs and feet and hands would start tapping and not stop until it was over. After the game they escorted him out to his car, he thanked them, shook their hands and left.

My Mom was upset that He didn't call her and I was upset that he didn't get an autograph. But my Dad said he was there to do a job and didn't want to bother him for an autograph because so many were already doing that. Plus he was there to watch over him, not be a fan. Now that I'm older I can totally understand.

Yes, I like the story... Wow, it's so great! Well, I can understand that "autograph thing", after all your man was trying to do his job... anyway, your dad still has those awesome memories, so everything is fine.

Elvis was a very sweet man (wasn't he?

). Your story proves (once more) that he was a gentle person, always humble.

Don't know what else to say... you're pretty lucky people.

Yes, I do feel lucky to have that thread of Elvis' life entertwine with ours, if but just briefly. You know, my dad was not a fan before that time but he was after. He enjoys having that experience and memory and me too, being my father and all.. And finding that incredible picture! WOW !!!! What a cool thing to happen. My dad is getting quite old and it is so good to be able to send that to him and for him to have it.
I am sure my dad talked about his "two boys" too, which makes me feel cool, that Elvis, maybe for a moment, knew who I was.

Yes, I am almost having the same feeling by just reading this post and knowing that someone who is related to a person that actually met Elvis.... You must understand that I am quite jealous.
