much, much ,much better than the originals, nice effects too!
Thumbs up from me!
I completely revised my cover for the release known as Blazing into the Darkness, adding and exchanging some elements.
As it seems, the show is not from August 11, but from the 12th, so I corrected that detail, too, of course.
So here is the latest update of this cover.
Hope you like it.

Thanks from here to hell.
Very cool effects on that front cover, and that photo on the back is outstanding.
"Don't tamper with the property of the U.S. Male"
Thanx, Big Boss.
The backcover pic is one of the most fitting images I ever found for the backside of a CD. In my eyes, it shows a relaxed Elvis who has done his work and leaves the stage.
Love the over the top effects on the front, looks real good. That photo shows real passion.
Hard to go wrong with photos like that - they are great.
Seriously though, very nice layout and composition - one could suggest the effect used on the Elvis logo would have been more suited for use on the title of the CD but that would be splitting hairs to a degree - however, some embelishment to the text of the title might have lifted it that extra notch but nevertheless a fine cover.
'What, honey ? ..... one scarf for the balcony ?! ........... OK ........... gimme a baseball ! ............ there's no way unless you put a rock in it'.

Thanks for the flattering comments to all.
I am glad you like the cover.

I had tried to employ the effect on the CD's title when I started working on the design. The result looked awful, because it was too much.Originally Posted by spinout-designs
The effect stressed the title but nothing else, so I decided to use the effect for the word ELVIS. That's why I merged the title pic with the effect, in order to suggest that it is Elvis who is blazing into the darkness.
I think you have come up with a great looking cover here.
The effects on the front really do sum up the title 'Blazing into the darkness'...fits perfectly to my eyes. On the verge of going over the top...but hitting the spot perfectly.
very fitting pictures....make the cover a real winner.
Nice one Manhattoe
Nice work here love the front the name of ELVIS is just blazing into here!!!
I am still searching for the label design, which I had made (about a year ago or so), but it has vanished here at home and on ep-tunes, too.
That front cover is great. How'd you do that?
Unfortunately the rest of the design doesn't quite live up to the front in my opinion. With the basic layouts and black and white colours. Would have liked to see you do a bit more with the rest of the cover.
In my opinion, the repititive use of the effect on the front cover would have spoilt that highlight. I chose a subdued design for the rest, deliberately, although the disc label (still not unearthed), bears the glitter logo.Originally Posted by WildStyle
I completely revised this cover.
Please have a look at the preview of the updated design in the first post of this thread.
No cheating here, Ron. I added the disc label, the cover foldout, exchanged the pic in the insert and redid the backside of the frontcover, completely.Originally Posted by Unchained

It wasn't my intention to re-design the whole thing completely. I think, the back of the front fits well into the overall scheme, as does the foldout, which, imho, is not messy at all. I had a version witout the two little pix, but that one looked a bit boring.Originally Posted by Unchained
As for centering elements, I almost never do that mathematically, but always choose optical adjustment. If you take a liner, you will see that things are not centered, if you look at it, you will recognize, that the elements are slightly out of center to avoid a "dead" appearance.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC DESIGN MANHATTOE!!!
I LOVE the effect you used for Elvis' name on the front cover....VERY UNIQUE!!!
Another masterpiece my friend!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
TCB-World...OPEN for business!!!

I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Thanks Mike and Tommy.
As a matter of fact, this is one of my personal favorites from my own work, though that is due to the great pix to some extent and not to the originality of the design.
Anyway, I am glad you like the cover.
Great cover Manhattoe. This is wat alternative cover art is all about; improving the original covers and you really succeeded with this one.
