Does Anyone Write Their Own Songs?

if so, what are the inspirations for the song? a personal problem, some one you love? maybe some of your songs were inspired by Elvis's songs

should make an interesting topic, here is one i just wrote today in spare time at schoo. it was partly inspired by STEAMROLLER BLUES, and also has the same chords in a blues rhythml

    RUN OVER YOU
i'm gonna run over you, gonna bring you down
yeah run! over you, you're gonna wear my crown
you'll be mine, till the end of time, when you wear my crown, when i run over you, and bring you down

if you're on the road at any time of day
and just happen to come by my way
i'll bring you down, you'll wear my crown, when i run over you

if my engine's running hot, i don't wanna burn out of steam
i'll pick you up if i see you, my little dream
i'll catch on fire, when i see my desire, when i RUN OVER YOU!!!

i'll hit you with speed, because i NEEEEEED! you bad!
you're the best thing i wish i had!
i don't wnat you to cry, don't want you to die, when i RUUUUN! over you!

i don't wanna hurt you, when i bring you down
i don't wanna see you cry, when you wear my crown
i'm gonna run over you! RUN! RUN! RUUUUUUUN OVER YOU!

yeah, but it never stayed in

so heres another song i wrote, one of my better ones. run over you is not the best i've done

this song is about a girl i liked, but she was just too bad of a ***** to have

WHY ARE THE GOOD THINGS ALWAYS SO BAD

why are the good things always so bad
why do happy beginnings always turn out sad
why oh why oh why can't i have you

why do you always play hard to get
    why can't i just forget?
why can't you just go away, when i WANT YOU TO!
why oh why oh why can't i have you

yes why are the good things always so bad
the things we always want so much
it seems there always is a sign
that seems to say do not touch .

why is it when i touch you, you burn like fire
why is it when i see you, you cut me like barbed wire
why oh why oh why yes why oh why

why: what a question to ask
you ask the question, you get so many answers back
why oh why oh why oh why oh why

why are the good things always so bad
why are you the best thing i never had
    why am i never allowed
why are the good things always so bad, and how

    tell me how
why don't you tell me now
    yeah tell me how etc

ok, now i want to hear other peoples songs

thanks a lot unchained. well i'm still in school, but i'm hoping to plan a career in singing when i leave school .i have already worked out the chords and rhythm structure for them, but to record them take a lot of time and download storage space, so i can only do it once in a while.

more to come soon, also everybody start pinning their songs please, thats one of the reasons why i put the thread up.

p.s-personally unchained, i like the 2nd one myself. its one of my best to date

here is another, one of my faves, based on WEARIN THAT LOVED ON LOOK. did i mention i've written about 60 songs in 4 years?

    SNEAKING AROUND
i came home and unlocked the door, i opened the lock with the key
went in The loungeroom to meet you there, and baby what did i see

I Caught you sneaking around! kissing another guy
yes you were sneaking around! babe i was bout to die

after all we'd been through, how could you do this at all?
baby when i saw you with that man, i was about to fall

    CHORUS

i remember the day i left town, said i'd be a while
you just nodded your head a little bit, then i saw you smile

    CHORUS

when i told you what i'd do, you said 'don't hurry back'
I knew that something was up, i would get on to your tracks

    CHORUS

when i caught you in his arms, i asked how could you do what you do
you turned your head around, said 'easy, i don't love you'

    CHORUS

I write my own songs. I believe for a voice to come from the heart, the words should also!

Here is one of my songs that I soon will be recording...

It's called "I Guess It's Just You, Baby"

    Verse 1:

Everytime I see you, my knees go weak

My heart gets numb and it's hard to speak

I don't understand these feelings inside

But loving you is something I can't hide

    Verse 2:

Those soft words that you had spoken

Will stay in my heart as a special token

I will never lose my sence of wonder for you

And I hope you feel that way too

    Chorus:

It was you who muttered those words

That made me break out into a smile

It was you who made me remember

Those times of when I was a child

Why you do the things you do

I guess it's just you, baby

When I was down on my knee's

And I couldn't find the answer

It was you who rescued me

To help me climb out of trouble

I guess it's just you, baby

    Verse 3:

You're the reason I smile, without a doubt

It's true, You're all I ever talk about

You make me feel happy, when i'm feeling blue

And I don't know how I could ever thank you

    Bridge:

Without your gentle smile and your gentle touch

I couldn't find the right words to sing

    I'd miss you too much

Please, Please, don't forget my dreams

But most of all, don't forget me

    Chorus:

It was you who muttered those words

That made me break out into a smile

It was you who made me remember

Those times of when I was a child

Why you do the things you do

I guess it's just you, baby

When I was down on my knee's

And I couldn't find the answer

It was you who rescued me

To help me climb out of trouble

I guess it's just you, baby

    Ending:

    It was you, baby

    I guess it's just you

    Baby

and i will do the same with yours to me. umm my songs don't have any copyright, so they could be pinched without my knowing and turned in to a hit by someone else. do you think i should delete this thread?

I wouldn't worry too much about it on this forum. I do this all the time on LMP's forum and there hasn't been a problem.

But you should do what you feel is right!

the song is 'why are the good things always so bad', the lyrics are posted up near the top of the thread
