If you haven't heard of this movie yet, I just wanted to warn all of
you before you waste your money! The movie titled "Elvis Has Left
The Building" leaves nothing but a bad after taste on your movie
pallet.
The film is based on a traveling cosmetic sales woman, Harmony
Jones (Kim Basinger), whose life is shaped by an early encounter
with Elvis. Everything takes a turn for the worst when she
inadvertently kills an Elvis impersonator and flees the scene. On
the run from the FBI, she discovers to her horror that she has a
knack for leaving dead Elvis performers (bad, cheap Elvis
performers) in her wake!
This movie comes from Joel Zwick, the director of "My Big Fat Greek
Wedding", but is nothing but a big fat disappointment! Along with
Basinger, the film also stars John Corbett ("My Big Fat Greek
Wedding", "Raising Helen", and "Raise Your Voice") who plays the
love interest with a soon to be ex-wife who refuses to divorce if
her jumpsuit is not returned. That?s right, she?s an amateur Elvis impersonator!
All I gathered from watching this film, is that writers Adam-Michael
Garber and Mitchell Ganem have a very distorted view of Elvis
tribute artists and must have some sort a hate built up toward them
all! Seriously! Who makes a film about killing bad Elvis
impersonators? Guess you can understand why it went straight to
DVD. The question is, why did they even waist the money to produce
it in the first place?
So, film fans BEWARE! Don't watch this movie while wearing a cheap
jumpsuit.
God Bless,
Nathan
